Colt 45 gov model

Hi all, I've just joined and this is my first post.

I have a Colt Government 45cal. model 1911 in electroless nickel. I've had this gun for over 25 years and never fired it. I even have the box that is in fair condition.

My question is "What is the value of this piece?" If it is nothing special I wouldn't mind getting rid of it for a Glock 22 as I already have another 45 that I use.

Thanks for any thoughts

This firearm may be worth a good buck. Check out the blue book of gun values. This is or may be a collectors piece and im sure is probably a 70 series. Don't get ride of it. Keep it!!!!!

Never sell a Colt...I had a 9mm Ar-15 preban colt (In New York we still have a ban..)
Glocks are a dime a dozen. I like them, but very common
