I have just bought a Colt AR15 .222 calibre in France. The rifle is new but has been stored in a private collection for the past 20 years.
The first time i have used it I have noticed a spring like vibration as the slide chambers a round. It does not occur when the slide stays back after the last round. Any ideas what it might be?

This is totally normal in AR-15 type rifles. The spring type vibration is caused by the buffer compressing the Buffer Spring, within the stock....NO WORRIES! Have fun, and don't worry that something is wrong with the weapon. Good question! Hope this helped...PS The reason this does not occur after the last round fired, is that the Bolt Buffer is locked back, and so is the spring.

Many thanks for that. I was worried that I had bought something that felt as if had been made in Taiwan

Yea what W. Lammers said, it's perfectly normal. The only AR's that don't have that sound are the few that are piston driven.

I like the sound

And I like the oil splatter on my shooting glasses. I need to go shoot. I really need to post some more videos.
