I was told by a friend that the CZ is one of the highest quality and best made handguns out there. I thought they were cheap knock offs. I did some research, they seem to have good reviews. I am in the market for a new pistol in either .40 or .45. Any suggestions? |

CZ's are good guns. I wouldn't say they are the highest quality or best made out there, but its all personal opinion. I know a lot of people who LOVE them. I like shooting them, but personally I would rather buy a glock/xd/m&P or a SIG (depending on what I'm using it for), but thats just me. CZ's are good quality for their price range. They kind of remind me of berettas feel. Armalite's AR24 is very similar to a CZ75 also.

I would like to add though that Greasypaws is THE man to ask about CZz. He not only owns several of them, but also he takes them apart and works on them and likes them very much. He might even have an extra one for sale. I'm not sure about that, but I'm going to meet up with him at 4:00PM central time on MSN Messenger and talk with him and I'll ask about that. Also, some months ago, I discovered a wonderful company called, Bul 5 that's a sort of mom and pop operation in Tel Aviv in Israel. Their pistols are a little on the pricey side, but the quality and hand made craftsmanship is out of this world. I personally do not believe there is a finer made hand gun out there in the world. As good maybe, but none better. I made an investment in three of them, one each for my two boys and one for my youngest son's best friend, for all the hard work they've put in on the design team we have here with some of the guys from the forum along with my boys and their friend. I purchased the Bul 5 Ultimate Racers for them, chambered in the special 9mm x 23mmSP parabellum ultra magnum. These are very powerful weapons, as powerful as a .45acp in fact. the SP stands for special propellants since they use BMG class powders in the uprated longer 9mm case. They have less expensive ones that this top of the line version I got for my boys, but if you're looking of a weapon for either personal protection or competition, I highly recommend this brand to you. Check out their site and see what you think. Many of their models come with 19 round mags too and the grips are sized so the mags don't stick out of the bottom. They look nice too. They have a fairly large assortment to choose from and I believe they do make both .40 and .45s as well.

greasypaws
are definietly quality made pieces.a CZ 75 in 9mm will run in the 400 range for a new one.they are an all steel gun.may be a little heavy for some people but i dont think so.very accurate and reliable.there is a reason for their reputation.grip to barrel angle is the best of the group.ergonomically friendly too

Greasy..what are your thoughts of CZ vs say EAA Witness. I know a Witness is a knock off of the CZ. My gun club has recently become infected with alot of Witness's, it's like a virus. Everyweek another person shows up with one. I told them we were going to have to call it the Witness sporstmans club. Those guys love em. I shot one and it was nice. I was just wondering what your thoughts were, if the CZ is better made etc.
