Dad's party and other good times.
The party went great! All us "kids" were there. (It would have taken a hospital reciept for Mom to issue a pass) All the Grandkids but 2 made it and a passle of great grandkids were there. Visitors from the community made it a good time. Extended family came from as far away as 300 miles to celebrate with us! My oldest and her husband came in from Denver (winner of the longest trip award) and we had a hella good time over the extended weekend. Rain kept us off the range till Sunday but we made up for it then. SIL got a crossbow and hadn't shot it yet. We got it dialed in @ 50 yds. I am really impressed with how accurate it was. We sent a LOT of lead downrange as well. On Monday we fired up the skid steer and with minimal tree removal and maximum backstop relocation we have the range set up really well now. Pistol station from 10 to 30 yards and a rifle lane out to 120 yds. (can get 200 very easily, no trees to remove, just some brush and cactus. Next step is a rail for cans and bottles and a dueling tree.I need some advice on a material to stop a 16" bolt fired from a 150lb pull crossbow. Any suggestions? We were using an old hot tub cover (3" of styrofoam vynil covered with a "hinge" in the middle so it was doubled over) that held up very well but the arrows imbedded past the fletching at distances less than 40 yds. So, that's my excuse for not showing up lately : ) The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! |

I have been a sick MF'er the last few days, too sick to sit in front of the computer (can you imagine that?)I was either watching MIL channel on the couch or in bed ....I think that I am finally 'on deck'.......as apposed to below deck, as in 'dirt nap'....I felt that bad!!! I don't get sick very often but when I do, it shuts me down.....I hope that everyone is well.

Thanks. Glad you're on the mend. Lots of folks dropping out for 2 to 3 days here too! Nasty stuff. I'm holding my breath and keeping my hands to myself. LOL!

I feel much better today, however I caught some really cool 'tin foil hat stuff' yesterday on the JFK assassination, they looked at it nine ways to Sunday..lol

With you on that. They can try all day to convince me his head rocks back by reflex action, but it sure looks like kinetic reaction to me.

I'm not convinced that Lee Harvey Oswald was the only one involved, let the debate begin....lol

It's been tried and failed every time to duplicate the shots
he made.
I will never believe he was alone
