Dems and GOP unite

I would like all of us political minded individuals to openly discuss and the different issues and where you stand...not your politician. No need for rep/dem fights people...this is about the issues, not the people...that comes later. First issue today is...Stem Cell Research!!
Just kidding(I say do it any way)
But the issue shall be........Guns...ready...GO

I think it would be pretty safe to say that we are all pro 2nd amendment

Some of you have probably seen this.

NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

'We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some "COMMON SENSE" guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights.'

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes . (This one is my pet peeve...get an education and go to work....don't expect everyone else to take care of you!)

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or service s of other citizens, don' t be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure. Our congress should read this one thoroughly and have a dictionary at hand in case they don't get the meaning!!!!

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!) Hey Congresspersons are you listening????

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from!

(Lastly....)

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH ----!

Laughing

Hey everyone, I am at work over here in Kuwait (where it 115F in the f'n shade...) but I laughed so hard reading the New Preamble. However, I almost pissed myself when I read greasypaws' protest story. Great job and keep up the great work. What I really find funny though, the liberals ALWAYS are the first ones to try to shut down the opposing viewpoint!!!

PKato

by the way...Palin is hot, did you notice McCain checking her out just after she was introduced by him???

What I support

1. I support the second amendment obviously.

2. We still need to ramp up our war against Islam (and when I write that, I mean all of it.)
Check this link out:
http://www.faithfreedom.org

3. I would like to see all welfare recipients mandated to work for the money they receive (our money)...clean parks, clean the city, clean up hiking trails...BUILD hiking trails...etc etc.

4. Stop the flow of illegals!!!!! Send back the ones we can find also!!!

5. I support the rights of all of us to see more half-naked photos of Palin!!!

Obama's promise

I know you all hate Obama but I have to ask what you think about what he said the other day. About Palins family and all families should be off limits. Even you guys have to agree, that is one hell of a statement I hope to see him stick too. Seeing as no other politician has ever dont that.

promise

i hate that word---promise--- kind of like taking someones check and hoping that it clears. would be nice if we didn't live in a world
where everything is "fair game" and where we could only take shots at who deserves it. but todays society promotes this type of abuse, instead of
proving what they can and will do, they try to throw drama onto others.
just for the record, in no way shape or form do i believe in anything that
Obama stands for. i think men should be men, not stone throwing cowards.

If you do not stand behind our troops...please stand in front of them....

I think obama was pretty stand up in what he said.Like i said before, he's a good man but not a leader.I m a little upset with McCain and Palin, They knew ahead of time about the pregnacy, and should have revieled it from the get go. Only when the press was going to out her did she spill the beans.T he fact that her daughter got preggers does.nt bother me, the fact that they tried to hide it does. what else are they gonna hide in the future.I know that they say this is a private matter, but when you are running for the number two seat in the free world all bets are off.

...after 3 beers

No alchohol over here, so after 3 beers I may be passed out! But I think drinking is somewhat like riding a bicycle right...You never really forget (maybe just a bit rusty).

I do agree with ebear...if Palin was thinking that it just wouldn't be brought up in the press...she has a lot to learn. But really, the fact is a non-issue, but the fact she didn't mention it right up front is odd.

Washington D.C. "works" differently than anywhere else in the world. The Representative Republic that we live in is designed for the status quo. There are a number of ways this can be shown: Filibusters prevent a vote in congress (imagine if we could do that at our workplaces to prevent us doing our jobs and still get paid for it!), when they actually vote, there are 3 choices: yay, nay, and present (present... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, vote already), and the last one I can think of immediately is the 2/3 majority. If you have people voting "present" it is very hard to acquire a 2/3 majority. I am sure most of us have either had a job, or are employed. We must work with people to accomplish our goals. So I eat ham and cheese today because Greasy gets the venison, tomorrow is my day for venison. Things like this happens to all of us during our lifetimes.

In government, especially the Representative Republic, the representatives must give and take with each other to "accomplish" tasks. Unfortunatly, for the represented, sometimes the "promises" are violated for personal or represenataive gain (I believe it is more personal than representative). However for the most part, we continue as a great nation because of the way our government was designed.

I contribute the aforementioned as a preamble of sorts. I do not believe either side. There will always be give and take in politics. Both sides know it and yet they continue their propaganda hoping an ambivalent citizenship base does not question motives or rhetoric. There is a theory that I have put a lot of thought into: always vote out the incumbant. This could be interpretted as a revolution of sorts. Of course we wake up the collective action problem. Would there be a way to educate all Americans for this way of thinking, and if there was, would it be fascist?

Republican, Democrat...what do labels mean, and why are we quick to assign them. Once in Washington D.C. they are the same. They work to get re-elected. Not always the best thing for our country, but so far we have managed, chalk that up to the founders forethought and the citizens like you reading this that questions those that are in power, based on popularity and name recognition.
