Hi I was listening to Michael Graham the other day and he said that the Obamas were vactioning on the Cape this weekend. The first lady and children in tow went into a buger place to get some burgers she asked the secret service to confiscate everyones cell phones that were in there eating because she did not want photos taken of the children eating. Did this really happen I have yet to follow up on it, but the question is what would you do, would you hand over your cell phone?

I would not have. I would have left.

That'd be a great lawsuit.

Here it is

Diners at a DC burger joint last week were delighted when Michelle Obama showed up with her kids to grab a cheeseburger and some fries.

But delight turned to annoyance when the Secret Service stepped to their tables and confiscated every customer's cell phone. What was the security risk posed by innocent diners' iPhones?

Fellow patrons had their cellphones temporarily confiscated to prevent pictures from being taken.

How is taking Michelle Obama's picture going to hurt her? What--she's afraid photographs will steal her soul? (Hey, and we just had our souls healed last November!)

Doug Powers thinks he knows the answer:

After all the “transparent” Obama administration’s harping on ending obesity and healthier eating, I can understand why they might not want anybody taking pictures of them scarfing on junk.

Is that why? Well, if you're at Maggie Moo's on the Vineyard this week and you see Mrs. O come in for a double scoop of lobster ice cream--hide the cell phone.

Gee, This Sounds Familiar...
by Michael Graham August 24, 2009 @ 08:19

Hey, anyone see this bit of outstanding journalism from the Boston Globe-Democrat Sunday?

WALTHAM - When Yale University Press publishes “The Cartoons that Shook the World’’ by Brandeis University political scientist Jytte Klausen in November, the book will be missing a key element: The cartoons that shook the world.

If it sounds eerily familiar, check out this blog posting from a certain Boston radio talk host nearly a week ago:

Remember those "controversial" Danish cartoons of Mohammad? Well, a (good liberal) Brandeis professor has written a definitive book on the subject for (liberal) Yale University Press to be marketed to (liberal) academics. The only thing missing from the new book?

The actual cartoons.

This is almost as good as their coverage of Bill Ayers coming to Boston College, another story they picked up from WTKK listeners long after the fact.

But somehow I manage to run this blog and host a radio show WITHOUT losing a million dollars a month. Incredible, isn't it?

UPDATE! I erroneously wrote that the Globe-Democrat's story didn't mention their own decision to censor the cartoons when covering this story. It was mentioned....way, way, down and buried inside another point...but they did mention it. For the record.
