dillema

sorry everyone but I have another dillema...

Here is the whole story as it goes right now. I am looking to buy my first handgun/guns. My primary objective will be home defense and personal cary; not concealed because the communist state of Wisconsin is one of two states that has NO concealed weapons permit of any type.

I am looking to spend $700 or less and these are the current options available to me.

HK .40 w/ (3) 10rd mags (1) safariland holster and mag pouch $625

.38 Rossi & Taurus 9mm millenium pro compact with three mags $600

.38 Rossi & SW M&P stainless 9mm 3mags $675

.38 Rossi & 380 Star 2mag $500

Springfield Armory XD(m) 9mm or .40 w/xd gear and 2mags $650

your input priceless

thanks

XD would be my first choice. My wife has an XD subcompact and it shoots wonderfully. The XD triggers are very good triggers. After that I would go with the HK .40

there shouldnt be a problem with me renting one why would you go with the .40 over the 9? 9mm ammo is cheaper and hollow points should stop anyone when you have 19+1

Heres something to think about. If you were to one day decide you wanted to sell your Rossi, You would'nt get shit for it. Its concidered a knock off. Taurus is a great gun but the Combo you propose does'nt equal one XDm. Its that great a gun.I was gonna get one this time around , but I wanted the Jericho first. I figure I'll wait to get a slightly used XDm as I'm sure people will sell them after not really using them. and needing quick money due to the current recession...Yes I AM A BOTTOM FEEDER!!!

Good point what about the smith? finding a used xd(m) is hard. why the .40 over the 9? the only reason i like the rossi is a revolver is easier for my wife without having so many moving parts

LOOK, i HAVE aRossi 851 revolver. Its got the vented 4 inch barrel shoots .38 special rounds.Looks just like a Colt Diamond Back.I hardly ever shoot it. Ijust like the semi-autos so much better. As far as the .40...Most of my Cop friends prefer it and I kinda like the power. Now if you want the 9mm by all means get the XDM.I've allredy got a 9mm, So the .40 would fit in right btween my 9 and .45

I don't have enough experience with the HK to recommend it, and I much prefer the consistency of the same trigger pull every time. As for multiple guns, I prefer getting good with one type of pistol before getting another type.

is the HK new or used? is it a USP?

I would either get the HK or XDm, but for those prices I would be leaning towards the HK if its new. If its used, and the XDm is new... then that may change my mind a little. Both are fine weapons.

In 40 I would go for the XD a good friend has one and I love shooting it. I have a 9mm glck and would not trade it for the world, I love it. So I would be shopping for and AD .40 or a glock .40

XDm VS. HK

As much as I love the XD's, if I could get a USP for the same price, I would. In a heartbeat.

I have made my decision first will come the xdm. the HK is used but you would never know it. But that will be available to me for many more moons. I would hate the libs to say no you cannot have a xd w/19rd mag.

try the glock 26 sub comp 9mm,glock 19 comp 9mm,glock 27 sub comp 40cal or the glock 23 comp 40cal. the 40 cal has more power but 9mm cost less so you can practice more.
