AZ does. just need a class 3 permit for full auto, suppressors, and rifle and shotgun barrels under 16 in.

Kentucky does. I want a class 3 weapon BAD, just for the fun of it. Reaper, if I remember, havent u been to Knob Creek? If so, is there such thing as a smg that is affordable?

no. never been to knob creek. would love to though.
depends on what you consider affordable. all full autos are really expensve. i know a M16 will run around $15,000 just cause of the stamp. if you have a class 3 you can buy the stamp to make a semi into a full auto, but the stamp still costs a few grand. i think the cheapest full auto smg would probably be a mac 10 or mac 11, but i think they would still cost $3,000-$5,000.

I know there is no reason for me to ask this question, but what is the price range of a full auto MP5? Also, would a fullauto Ruger 10-22 .22 rifle be any cheaper, Ive seen them on Youtube, and they are sweet! But the AM-180 .22 smg is even sweeter!

the ruger might be cheaper. below is a link to a website that sells machine guns. they have a few mp5's but you have to email them for the price, so i'm guessing they are pretty expensive. if i had to guess i would say $10,000-$15,000.

a smg would be cool but with ammo prices the way they are i wouldnt wanna pay to shoot these things even handloading with this volume of fire would be a nightmare

True, I probably wont own one anyways because I looked @ the steps for getting a class 3 license, looked complicated. Plus, if u practice, u can almost shoot a semi-auto as fast, but an smg would be pretty cool.

Anyone here have a class 3 license and own an automatic weapon? If so, tell me about it. How hard is it to get a class 3 license? Also, if u have ever shot an automatic gun, please tell me about that to because I am really interested in machine guns(hopefully goin to Knob Creek this October...will try to shoot one then!)

Greasy,
you can own a suppressor here in washington. You can even install it on the rifle, but by God, do not send a round down range while you are in this state.

not owning, what u cant use why own?besides i walk too damn loud to even worry about needing a suppressor another point suppressors take up weight that i would rather fill with more ammo

Greasy,
Please expand on extra ammo? Are you speaking of hunting or assault or something else?

It makes sense that the weapon you are using would be barrel heavy. I have been fortunate enough to fire a weapon with a beta-mag. Talk about heavy!! I think I would rather have 4 30 round magazines instead of 1 100 round magazine (even 3 30 rounders for that matter).

I do however disagree with you about the owning versus using. There are other states that do allow the use of suppressors. I do not think that it is fair to allow discrimination of one state over another. I am working on trying to change this law. To accept the unfair law as it stands is the same apathy that leads to loss of liberties.

i simply meant that say a suppressor weighs 1 pound i would rather carry 1 pound of extra ammo and as for owning/using for me here in wa state i cant use a suppressor so why haveone to hang it on the wall? all i'm sayin is that i dont hunt people and you dont need a suppressor to hunt critters even for poaching a 22 works quietly enough

I think some of you may be thinking of two different things.
A class three BATF license is a very hard thing to get.First you need to get a regular BATF gun dealers license, then you can apply for class three, with certain requirements that are expensive.
You can still obtain a class 3 machine gun but you must go through a class 3 dealer and apply to BATF for a transfer of weapon Ths will cost
you $200.00 IF approved. The dealer also tacks on his fee.
Waiting times for approval can be as long as two years.
Keep in mind that your criminal history and your past may come back to bite you.You must have a local LAW ENFORCEMENT "OFFICIAL" approve the transfer prior to sending in for BATF Approval.
Best bet go to class 3 dealer to get questions explained.
