I've just read another story where a dog discharges a firearm. I'm still a little sceptical of the first story tallguy posted, but I can believe the following. Appears perps being chased by cops in Massachusetts ditched their pistol in a snowbank. Cops brought in dog to sniff it out, dog dug into said snowbank and hooked the trigger while digging and discharged the firearm, scaring the dog but not harming him. I.m thinking the snow would have held the gun firmly enough for the dogs actions to pull the trigger. Gun laying on pickups floorboard not so much.I'm thinking in that case someone was screwing around and shot his bud accidentally and guy blamed it on dog to keep friend out of trouble. Did they check the dogs paw for powder residue? I think not. Really considering sending all of these dog shooting accounts to Myth Busters to see if it's really plausable.
