Well to be PERFECTLY HONEST about it,I asked the pres. of Duracoat what the "going rate" was on a refinishing job and was informed BY HIM that everyone was charging between $350.00 to $700.00 per gun depending on comlexity of design...
Gary

So your building them as well. everyone I know charges around 100.00 bucks
All I paid for the kit was 40.00 bucks DuraCoat is extremely easy to apply. Anyone can do it. DuraCoat was designed for the average gun owner. Preheating, baking and blasting are not required. Expensive, space consuming equipment is not needed. Simply clean and degrease the surface prior to application.

I believe someone emailed you a line of bull sh*t.

We do not refinish at this location. A patterned rifle will go for $350 to $700 depending on the detail, mag catch, safety, scope ..etc..

Our web site is our most current catalog, printed 4-color brochure do not show the slight differences in colors.

Thank you

to duracote. i know you have to bake it but i have found the finish is more durable and resistant to chipping

to any of them. It's cheaper and easier to apply. it's not as durable, but it looks cooler to have the paint wearing in some spots. Even paint looks gay.

use high temp engine paint[the 500 degree type] spray it on, let it dry and then heat it with a heat gun[looks like a blowdryer on crack] for about 20 min. this sorta oven cures it and makes it rather durable. resists chipping fairly well[almost as well as duracote] amd is still cheap

I agree John with your Cerakote choice. I have had just a K-31 coated so far but plan on others. I was impressed enough with the process that I have sent work from my employeer to have coated. This is a great coating (hard, durable, & self lubricating) and available in many colors. It's working well in my laboratory automation projects.

I've commented extensively on the benefits and detriments of all 3 on several boards.

Here's the news. Dura is good for SOME things it is NOT good for most things.

Firstly it is repackaged Sherwin Williams automotive paint, which is why it cannot handle temps over 300F.

Finite pot life. Hardener starts hardening with any exposure to UV rays. Goes on too thick for my tastes.

However I do use it for plastics and optics. Because I cannot bake them.

Moly over park will outlast most, including the vaunted Cera-crap, which has the worst of both types, it has a finite pot life AND it must be baked for hardness.

Only been doing this for 15 years. What do I know.

You damned white men just don'y understand. PMS is when we get moody. Pre-Menstrual Syndrome, as in before the bleeding. The heavy bleeding I experience is a relief from the bloating and cramps. Damn men can't get anything right. Especially the white ones. VIVA LA RAZA!!!!!
