From a friend who lives there.
This afternoon I arrived back from two weeks in the US - you know: "the place with all the shootings."
The town involved in this incident is my town & the shooter was a friend from years back.
The weapon was a shotgun.
Current casualties are 5 dead & at least 25 wounded.
I worked & socialised with the killer for maybe 15 years between 1977 & 1982 & he lived less than 50yds from me in the village where my mum & dad still live.
I would never have labelled him as the type to do something like this. Now he's in Hell & deserves it.
One lawfully armed citizen could have stopped this, or at least reduced the number of casualties.

not being able to protect yourself or worse your family
would be the worst. Think about your wife, gf or kids
as the victims and you are helpless, except maybe
to rush him, throw something some other lame attempt
to stop somebody witha gun? It is thoroughly ridiculous.

and a few hunting rifles are all that are allowed there, it would be disaterous. Can you imagine trying to return AK47 fire, even semi auto with a 12ga or a bolt action single shot?

I look at Indy. I'm so glad I got out of there in '82 after living & watching what was happening for 20 years. Violent crime on local TV every day - and nobody is trying to take over - yet. Unlike the popular motto - the police aren't here to protect. They simply can't. The police can mainly just respond. Indy would need 100X officers or more to actually protect. Not going to happen. And there is talk about limiting private possesion ...
