20 Gauge 870 Remington

My 20 gauge 870 Remington. I got it in 1965 and still have it today. It still shoots like the day I got it and is still a favorite for upland birds. I have even taken a whitetail with slugs with it.

12 Gauge

Remington was my first gun to ever shoot. I shot a gallon jug of water. Had so much fun!

But, none seem to have been successful in repeating it since Bruce died, though his son Brandon seemed to be the closest model up and coming in the Full Auto Fist Gun category.

Remington 1100 20 gauge. Awesome shotgun and memories. Got it when I was 7. The 1st gun I ever purchased myself was a ruger redhawk in 44 magnum in 1985. I was looking for a model 57. There was none to be found.

First guns,

The first one I ever remember shooting, I was about 7 or 8 and had gone hunting with a couple of uncles. We stopped and set up an oil can because I wanted to shoot a double barreled shotgun (an old Side X Side) one of them had brought along. I still believe that I pulled both triggers at the same time (because I didn't realize what I was doing) I think it was a 20 guage but could have been a 12. Anyway, when it went off, I backed up four or five steps and one of my uncles caught me before I fell backwards onto a barbed wire fence. When he took the gun from me he opened the barrels and both shells popped out empty. I don't know if one of them had already been empty or not, I just know it hurt like hell! But I still enjoy shooting to this day.

The first one I ever owned was a J. C. Higgins Bolt action .410 made by savage arms and sold by Sears, Roebuck, & Co. It was a birthday gift on (I think) my 11th or 12th birthday. A couple of years ago, I passed it on to my sister's son. It was given to me by my mother's brother so I felt it appropriate that I pass it on to him. I hope that he is enjoying it as much as I did. And I hope that, one day, he passes it on to either one of his kids, or one of his sisters' kids.

First gun

Was a fist gun. j/k

First I shot was a Daisy air gun. First firearm I fired was my Grandpa's .22 Winchester 69

When I was 7 (or 8, can't be sure) my Dad got sick of me asking to let me shoot the 12Ga. So he let me. It was a while before I asked again. :)
