I just wanted to show off my other 2 Mausers from the 1950's. I LOVE'EM!!!! Both in 7.62 NATO. I traded my GSG-5L .22LR for the FR-7. While doing research I found out that the FR-7 had a brother the FR-8. So my search began for the FR-8 took me several months and one random day I went to a gunshop that I had never been in. As I was looking at a Hakim and a Rasheed my eyes wondered to the far corner where low and behold there was a FR rifle. From the distance it looked like another FR-7 so I just had to ask...was it an FR-7? The gunshop owner said good guess but that's an FR-8. I was like GOOD LORD MAN HERE IS MY MONEY TAKE IT!!!!!!! so long story short I got it and so now I have the set. GunShop owner said that the set is worth $1200 if sold together or $450 each if separated. (NOT FOR SALE) I also got a Bayonet and gonna order another one so I can have one for each. The FR-7 has a Mauser 1893 action and the FR-8 has the Mauser 1898 action. FR-7 is not safe to fire .308 Win as it has a weaker 2 lug bolt. The FR-8 can fire .308 Win as it has the 3rd lug.....but in my opinion I would fire 7.62 religiously as I have seen photos of a blown up FR-7 and so yeah don't want that to happen to mine haha!!!!
Will add photos in the image section of this post.
