Friends

I thought I'd just chunk this out for yall. WYFFAN sent me a friend request. I looked and saw he's (or she's) a student in China. Easy enough to click on accept. What does this mean? Nothing, other than I have agreed to extend civility towards said member of web based society. A friend in real life is someone you know, someone you have met, someone who knows stuff about you and visa versa. So,if I have accepted your friend request, you know what it means to me. If I have not sent you a friend request, its cuz it don't mean much. I attempt to treat all with a measure of respect and if I am hassling ya, its probly in fun. If I am pissed, it shows.

I have to agree with Vaq completely on this one. Society today uses the word "Friend" way to freely & way to often.

If I haven't met you, I'm not your friend. To be completely honest, I probably don't want to meet most people on here, because people tend to annoy me. Online, you can delete comments that in the real world are put out there when you say them and can't be retracted. I'm really quite different in the real world, doing things like eating gummy bears out of the trash and talking to myself. Okay, so I'm not much different. Whatever. I think one of the few people on here I really would like to meet in person is Snake because I would love to take him to a range and turn him into a real shooter. I would also like to meet TX Lucky guy or however you say his fuckin name (A bit drunk right now), because he strikes me as a real-deal dude and I'd like to go shooting with him. If most of you guys sent me a message that you were going to be in my area, I'd probably invite you over to shoot, but people tend to fail expectations I have of them because guys who know their shit are often times just people who have Google opened up in a second tab. Some of us know our shit without researching, but we're probably the exception. Okay, I'd like to shoot with ronin to show him that 1911s blow balls compared to Glocks. That was a joke. Sorta.

Friend?

Stupid as it may seem, I would kill for a stranger but I would die for a friend....

I do not have many friends of which can be counted on one hand excluding the thumb.
I have people I get along with and would not ignore, would help as much as possible, but friend means there is an emotional investment something that is never easy for me and not done often.

Good people is something different, the peeps here overall seem to be just that and I can spend time with good people anytime. Well, depends on which direction the BiPolar is heading.. LOL

seriously

My buddy Ben and my buddy Torrey. I rarely talk to Ben and I haven't seen Torrey in over a decade, but I'd still help either of them out in any way I can. I've known almost nothing but military life, being an army brat and then joining ten days after my eighteenth birthday. The life I grew up with was you make friends, move, make new friends and forget the old friends. When people talk about knowing people from their childhood, it's lost on me. My son will be eight when I retire from the army, so he should be able to live that life where he makes lifelong friends.

Navy brat, then the divorce shuffle when one wanted to get at the other...

Few years with Grandparents gave me 1/4 chance at normal and I still fuck that up all the time.
My wife tells me I have no social grace, and should not say things straight and to the point because it hurts peoples feelings. crap like that, well hell, if they know up front then there isn't any questions at the back side of things.

Right / Wrong

its really simple as Black and White...

for the most part... though I do attempt to not be foul...

My wife accuses me of "targeting" people when I say I'm just scanning. Maybe it has something to do with the five minutes straight without blinking, drooling, and punching myself in the head.

She says I'm rude when I don't need to be, but I have a real problem dealing with incompetent people and I believe EVERYBODY is incompetent.

What does she know? She electocuted mice with a Tazer and broke a cat's neck just to freak out some Cav Scouts on her second deployment, and put a .357 to my head when she thought I was cheating on her so she hasn't got a leg to stand on.

Overpriced toys

Yeah, Cochise County Sheriff's Office is issued 1911s and they didn't do as well as this lone MP in the LEO competition with the Glock. Neither did Border Patrol with their HK P30s. Or anybody else for that matter. Bring it, brother. Hah hah. I really wish I could organize a Guns Lot shoot, but I'm not Bill Gates. Oh well.

That would be cool

I'd honestly like to go back to that area. I did my freshman year in Ellison High School in Killeen. I was actually in class when George Hennard shot up that Luby's and saw the cop cars hauling ass past the school. Yet another event that could have been less catastrophic had civilians been able to have their own weapons. i wonder if that female who lost her parents (Suzanna Huff or something like that) still has nightmares. I'm gonna start getting pissed because now I'm thinking about Maj Hassan. No worries. If I get to go to Afghanistan, I'm just gonna say I'm taking heavy machine gun fire from a house, call AH-64 or A-10s and kill some civilians and it'll be in his name. Probably not, but the temptation is there.
