Shooting 308 AR

Congrats, Jay ! You will like JP - You might like to try their Captured Spring Buffer System for the .308.

a buddy of mine loves them.have you used them,or fired a rifle using one?if so,what is your opinion, and do you know if it increases or decreases in overall weight (spring/buffer) from standard carbine or rifle buffer/spring packages?im really trying to keep the weight to a bare minimum, but i would sacrifice an extra ounce or 2 for a quiet system that doesnt require you to have a spring and buffer retainer detent thingy (technical terms)to stop the buffer and spring from jumping out of the tube.as far as the jp hand guard,it seems to make sense since i dont trust the ultra light troy due to its clamping system jp seemed to be the best strength, and its usualy actualy cheaper.i just wish jp made their new "rapid configuration" lighter/easier rail instal/uninstall tubes they just made for AR15 for the big AR's!probably as soon as i order mine they will cone out with one...just my luck haha.how goes the buisness out there in texas?ya getin any parts to build with out there?

captured spring

I have not but I work with all ex-military / law enforcement guys and they all love them. Customer that have bought them from us rave about them. No change in length; MUCH QUIETER, and recoil is lessened. Requires no retainer "thingys" that are constant lost during maintenance. You are right, probably right after you finish they will come out with something new; they are constantly doing so - Certain parts very difficult - lots of bartering taking place. For us - so far so good. We figure 30 - 45 days will be much calmer - more parts available and cheaper, manufacturers are starting to catch up.

Parts

I sure most Gunslot'ers have noticed - scarce AR-15 items include but are not limited to Bolt & Carrier Groups; Charging Handles; Barrels and some small internal parts.
