the sear is what keeps the striker or the hammer held back from hitting the firing pin until the trigger is pulled. Usually when the trigger is pulled, the sear is pulled away from the striker or hammer which then releases the hammer/striker to hit the firing pin. To make a weapon full auto, depending on the weapon, you may need nothing more than a file, or a twist tie, but we're takin bout ILLEGAL shit here. unless you're an ffl, dont risk screwing up a perfectlt good working firearm, or going to jail. Dont wont you to get in trouble my friend

It is not illegal to discuss things like this as normal citizens. I have heard that class 3 dealers aren't allowed, but normal people can discuss how to convert weapons all day long as long as it is for informational or entertainment purposes.
