Hey fellas...I have recently gotten ecstatically interested in shooting. I have always shotgun hunted..but I want to get into rifle shooting (more than a .22). I am thinking about getting a Remington 700 SPS. I have been told that this rifle is a great hunting rifle as well as very accurate for target shooting. I eventually want to get into competition shooting..any comments, tips, or info about the Remington 700 SPS? know any goods or bads on it?

I appreciate any information..thanks again!

I am a fan of the remington 700 platform (m40/m24/700p etc..). I also like the FN SP but it costs a little more. The 700p is a great rifle... and you could use it for hunting as well. the sps uses most of the same parts. I prefer .308 or .300wm.
