Beaut to be with Guns Lot. I was born in Australia's desert and gravitated toward the Army at a time when it wasn't cool. Nowadays I'm an mostly artist, with Pentagon connections, living above a jigsaw puzzle-style lake in southern Bavaria beside a forest. Every day, when I'm not driving across Europe delivering my oil paintings, I'm out with my 'wolf' Lago.
I shoot competitively from a club outside Munich with some very fine German shooters, however, pistol shooting in an underground range is not really my cup of tea. This year I will drive up to Finland to get a Sako TGR-42 or -44. The downside is there are just 2 or 3 long ranges here as a result of the on-going historical rules post-WWII, which will mean for me a lot of travelling to France and Israel.
Weirdly, because the TRG-22 is bored for NATO rounds the much more serious .338 Lapua Magnum TRG-42 is said to be much much easier to take over international boarders. Question: Is that the case? Have any Guns Lot folk had personal experience travelling 'round the Continent with NATO and larger-than-NATO caliber firearms?
