yeah either the 17 or 19 my dad bought a 19 in 1992 and between himself and i we have put around 20000 rounds thru it with no issues other than cleaning he got the 19 because of the smaller size for concealed carry

i like the g19, but that just my preference.it fits my hands better. i used to own one then sold it, but i currently have a g23 which is a .40, but the frame is the same size as the g19. it all comes down to what feels the best in your hands and if you are going to use it for concealed carry like greasypaws said.
One suggestion... if you buy a .40, you can buy conversion barrels that allow you to shoot .357sig and 9mm. all you need is a new barrel to drop in and a new mag.you can always go down in caliber with the same frame, but if you start out with a 9mm, you can't go up. thats why I like my .40 because I can shoot three different calibers out of the same weapon.

i was unaware of the glock barrel changes but this opens up a lot more fun

just google "glock conversion barrel". or "glock 23 conversion barrel". Like I said above... you can get a 9mm or .357 sig that fits a .40 frame. You can also get a 10mm conversion barrel for a g21 (.45). this was you can use .45 for plinking and 10mm for defense/hunting side arm. most sigs allow for conversion barrels as well. thats why i stick to glocks and sigs (besides 1911's)
