For The Glock Guys

I Know you've shot more than one model....Which is your favorite and why? Mine is the 23, because it is very acurate for a compact .40, and it conceals well.

I like the 23 also for the reasons shakleford mentioned... and you can also get a 9mm conversion for it.

I also like the 21SF. its a great .45 to start with, and you can get a 10mm conversion for it

GLOCK

I agree w/the G23 as the best carry. It can get pretty serious w/an after market .357SIG 5" ported barrel. My G31 is OK. I still haven't adjusted to it yet. MY favorite is the G20, 10MM. I have after Market barrels of 5 and 6 inches (both ported). The ported barrels make it a joy to shoot. You may have to use some heavier recoil springs. Don't get taken in with the after market dangle about spring recoil reducers with the GLOCKS. Also, both Kramer and ElPaso Saddlery made holsters for my G20 w/6"barrel. I use them when I hunt.
summed up; I obviously like GLOCKS. They work, and they work well.

My favorite is the G19 so far. I'm on the backorder list at a police supplier for a G34, so we'll see how that goes. As for the reduced recoil spring, that's primarily for competition where you use reduced loads for faster followup shots. I have not personally had any problems loading my Glock mags to capacity, but as I have stated in another post, I must have the strongest thumbs in the world.

The second amendment does not apply to the states. It restricts the federal government from infringing on our rights (Hah hah hah. Good one, huh)?

I love my 22/27 combo. I am a huge fan of the 40. Plus I can use my primary weapon mags in my back up. For the 27 I use the finger extension on the mag in the weapon. Off duty I carry the 27 with the normal mag in the weapon and I carry a Glock 22 mag for a reload. If I am having to reload I dont care about the mag extending past the mag well.

My carry combo

is the G19 and G26. I was going to buy the G17, but I'll wait for the G34 to come in. Good call, Chris, that's exactly how I do it. I never understood why someone would carry a compact or subcompact and a small mag as reload. If you have to reload, that means you've already fired and there's no reason to try and be discreet by using another low capacity stubby mag.

Another reason I carry two guns on me whenever the weather allows is to arm my wife if need be. She doesn't have her CC permit yet, so if something bad happens when we are out and about, I can arm her with the G26 so she can defend herself and my son while I move toward the threat. If she's not with me, two guns makes for a New York reload

What is the course of fire for that? What does it entail?

Also carries really well and is very accurate.

You spend 30 years in and get 75% base pay. All you have to do is beat "High year Tenure" (Navy term) and keep getting promoted. Don't know what they call it in the other branches, but, for example, if you don't make E-7 by 14 in the Navy, you reach "High year Tenure" and are forced out. I believe you have to make E-9 in the Navy to stay on for 30 these days, but I'm not sure. They keep changing the E-4 thru E-6 years. I just looked it up. Army = 'Retention Control Point' Since I knew you were an MP, I thought that;s what your sig meant. Oh, well, wrong again...

g21 or g21SF (slim frame). you said you have big hands, so if you're not trying to conceal, go with a full size. it will be a little more accurate, less recoil, have higher magazine capacity and reach higher velocities because of barrel length.

I prefer the G 23,very accurate, prefer the caliber, and just a great all around weapon.Put some MEPROLIGHT nightsights on her and your good to go.Further up charlie9toe mentioned a ported barrel, cool for day time, but if you ever fire your weapon at night the ported barrels can blind you momentarily.Wouldn't recommend one for a self defense weapon. If its gonna hit the fan it's probally gonna be dark outside. No disrespect to charlie9toe.

Ported barrels do not put out that much flash when using modern defensive rounds, as most of them have flash supressing additives in the powder. Big revolvers are a different story, but 9, 40, 45 don't have much muzzle flash. Porting is not good if you train to fire from "retention positions" which direct the ports toward your face, so that's my reason for not liking them.
