Glock or XD?

Which do you prefer, and why?

I could have guessed that, but why?

The glock is a good gun lots of aftermarket goodies, but I got the XD .45 Tactical and love it. It fits my hand better than the glocks do, but both are great pistols.

I'll tell ya why. The Glock does not fit my hand in any frame size, caliber or any other configuration. I think they are great weapons. Very reliable, lightweight and durable, but they have a nasty habit of taking a chunk of flesh from the web of my thumb, every time the slide cycles. I have not had that problem with the XD as of yet, although I have not tried the compact frame, yet. The XD just serves me and my needs better and more comfortably.

I imagine just about any pistol will shoot under water. Don't know that for a fact and I am not about to put my XD under water to find out. Maybe one of the guys with more money than brains will try and tell us. Even if you shot the gator underwater the bullet will get slowed so far down by the water that I doubt it would penetrate the things skin anyway. I would sudgest staying on the boat.

Yeah, but I imagine

in a worst case scenario, that if you had to use it underwater, that a Glock has been proven to work. True, you would have to be point blank to get proper penatration, but they do work. I have also seen a S&W .357 magnum fire under water. It didn't go very far, but it did fire. So hillbilly, your observation would hold true. The guys on Mythbusters tried this one out and it worked. I imagine that the sound would do more damage to the animal than the actual round. Again...just my opinion.

I don't agree with you, though. My opinion is based on the fact that the Glock is uncomfortable in my hand. The angle on the handle causes the slide to grab the web of my thumb as it cycles. It also makes it harder for me to stay on target. I just don't like Glocks. That is my opinion, of which I am entitled to. This doesn't make a Glock an inferior weapon, except when it is in my hands, it just means that I will not be wasting my money on a gun that I can't shoot comfortably. Therefore, I have got no use for one. As for the Glock beating the XD any goddamn day, I would again have to say that this is a personal preference. The two guns have their strengths and weaknesses, but the XDm edges out the Glock, simply because it has a reinforced barrel to be able to handle the +p and +p+ rounds that the Glock is not made for. I respect your Glock worship and I would never try to convince you that one is better than the other, but from my own personal experience, the Glock is little more than a paperweight to me. It would never get shot, therefore, a waste of money.

in my opinion, the xd-40 fits better in my hand than the g22, but glocks dead ahead accuracy isnt matched by springfield, but then again grip comforst dont really mean much to me since i bought a desert eagle and a glock 19, its like a medium sized grip and an xl.

The folks that can shoot Glocks can make tight groups without fail. I only wish that I could as well. It ain't to be, but the XDm is a different story. So far, and I don't own one yet, the XDm feels better to me, the grip is customizable to my hand. I like the picatinny rail for lights or lasers. I like the trigger. I am not a big fan of the grip safety, but I can get used to that. Once I have shot one of these, I might love it or I might put it in the same class as the Glock, but what I have seen so far looks favorable. I hope this one doesn't disapoint.

They conceal better than the XD. My G19 is the same height as the XD subcompact 9mm, and holds five more rounds. my G26 holds the same number of rounds and is much more concealable.

XD i own an XD and prefer it over the glock because the slide rides higher on the frame. the glocks slide rides lower and will cut my hand while shooting if i dont grab it just right, they are both great guns that you can stake your life on

My Glock take +P

just fine. I know it's not supposed to, but that's a liability issue. I don't see someone practicing extensively with +P loads anyway. As for +P+, hell, I can't even find any. Not sure that's much of an advantage.
