this was my introduction to my first handgun, my glock17 and I met this morning and it was a great time for both of us. after leaving the counter and of course the paperwork we retired to the pistol range. after a 20 minute " getting to know you " i was ready to put out my first rounds..first one, i don't even remember aiming, i was just wanting to feel the pistol recoil..sweet!! ok two more..o shit.!! better breath now..after talking a little more to the range guy [ am i comfortable ]..its on now!! green light hammmer down!!! let her rip!!..50 rounds go sooo quick..but it was a great intro to my new and first pistol..my hands are still numb..so my cherry is busted..i got one question for all you gun guys ...do i name the pucker???

catfish88 told ryo story about how in Tennessee this is common practice to name new firearm. ryo had trouble coming up with name for ryo little Walther G22 Black A3 bullpup. catfish88 say in Tennessee they usually give female name to weapon. But ryo could not think of good name, so for now just call it little black rifle that ryo love so much. will come up with good name in time, but want it to be the right name cause ryo actual do love his little rifle so very much. although samD post pictures of this ruger precision target rifle that ryo saw and fell in love with and almost drool over picture! lol! samD gonna get in trouble with ryo pops because now ryo want to have more than just one rifle, but little black rifle is alway going to be ryo first rifle so will alway be very special place in heart for the Walther.
just like your Glock 17 is your first weapon, it too will alway have special place in Ivan chan heart because it your first one. am so glad you got pistol in finally and have had chance to shoot and get acquainted with it.

good luck with all your shooting!

Your friend alway,

Ivan, congratulations, your not a pistol virgin anymore. Now, be a gentleman and give her a good cleaning and a little oil. Dont' just use her abuse and put her up. And yes, I know what you mean about 50 rounds going fast. Especially in Glocks and other hi-caps, you are spending more time reloading mags than shooting. Glad you had fun. And I would name her.

Congratulations, sound like you had fun !. I,2nd everything catfish said. I would also say (I'm a little paranoid)if you are going to keep the weapon for self protection, after cleaning, put a couple of rounds through it. It's a confidence thing (for me) You Know it's ready !

(prob shared by many others) is that if you let go of the trigger just a fraction of an inch, there's a little, tiny 'click,' and it's ready to go again. Just pull. I LOVE that 'little, tiny click.' It's, like, sublime beauty, like you just got her off, and she's ready to go again without quite as much work! (OK, I'm terrible!! Call Dr. Freud!)

Name the gun

but only if it's meaningful. I have to wonder how many M1As out there are named "Charlene". Seriously? Charlene? How many people have even fucked, let alone met, a girl named Charlene? My M4's name is Hopes, my Glock 19's name is Dreams, and my Glock 34's name is Change. Obama would be proud. My other guns do not yet have names. I named my M60 Dirty Bitch, as she fuctioned best after she got dirty and I used 10W30 motor oil to lube her. Prolly shoulda' named her smoky bitch. My first M249's name was Piglet, since the M60 was sometimes referred to as the pig, and the SAW is a smaller machine gun. Normal guns don't have personalities, but machine guns do. So names for machine guns are absolutely necessary, while names for your personal toys really aren't.
