Glocks and lead ammo

OK, got the point. Apparently using lead ammo in a Glock is considerd, at least in some circles, to be unwise because it could lead (no pun intended) to a kB moment. So, 2 questions.

1) Do you all agree with this?

2) What personal defense ammo would you then use in a Glock?

Glock Lead Ammo

I'm not sure if your asking what kind of lead ammo to use or just what ammo in general to use for personal defense. Personally, I use Remington Gold Sabers in mine. Other will have differing optionsions of course, but there's mine.

I have used it in glock before with no problem, but cleaned the barrel out really good. I try to stay away from it. for personal defense, I usually keep Corbon DPX or Federal HST in my glock

You can use any ammo that you want. I am looking at a Wolfe(sp) bbl Stainless Steel .451" longer and ported for target shooting. $145.00 on Gunbrokers.com. I will keep the stock Glock bbl for carry and home defense.

lead bullets

I still have all my equipment to cast my own lead bullets. So if the libs ever get the bill passed to mark ammo, I will put my pelosi stamp on all of my castings...yeah right!!

I have to keep my monkey army with ammo!!

I have fired lead ammo out of everything I have ever owned. Like Raper said, and I spoke with Greasy over the weekend, be sure to clean your barrel. It is thought that the polygonal barrels are sharper than the lands and grooves and thus "cut" into the bullet leaving lead behind. SamD has a great idea; switching to a barrel with lands and grooves should aleviate the "excessive" lead slag.

Lead is okay

all the above is correct. Clean it every few mags and you're fine. As for what the best defensive ammo is, all the major ammo manufacturers make relatively reliable, effective rounds. IMHO (I'll go with "Honest", as I am incapable of being "Humble"), you should buy a box of a few different types and find out what your gun is most accurate with. If you use your weapon for defense, you don't want to be completely confident that your gun and ammo combowill hit where you want it to assuming you do your part. Bullet placement is more important than what brand of hollowpoint you have.
