Hamp.. morning all..

Remember im not just any f'n street retard sitting here.. i'm "yours".. gunslut retartd 1

You guys should see what happens when i hit sp check.. guessing half of you use this feature, Obviously i "havta".. anyway half of the post is red.. sometimes takes me as long to do the sp check as the original composition..AND.(on a roll here huh) i'm sure i really have "brok'n" it .. Couple times on the old lap top, the spcheck would start loading slow.. you could almost hear it groaning..

On a "semi" related issue. I have pics of all my old scoots i'd like to post.. Know you guys are busy working, but if anyone has both time and ability to make them digital send me a pm address and i'll mail a few (no return necessary).. I would have thought that this service was available over the counter at CVS, Walgreens, but told not..Anyone know who does offer real to dig service..

For those of you that don't spend time around REAL cowboys.. this is one of those Wrangler, Levi's.. Coors, Bud deals.. Cowboys (cow hands, or just hands) are serious as the proverbial heart attack bout what type of hat they wear.. Stetsons are for show.. Resistols are for work.. Boss (or thinks he is type) wears the Stetson.. so if your a blue collar working cow hand .. yep it's a Resistol.. pard am i preach'n to the choir here. Or is it different over in TX.. gona guess not..

I got "schooled" on this down in Florence.. We had a horse guard of real hands..Couple of them became friends The only difference between them and those i know here, is those in Florence would put on a DOC shirt. that was it..same dirty boots, and of course Resistols..I was thinking about these guys when we had that scar thread. these guys have a tendency to get "proud" busted up a lot.. think they go out and throw themselves into things sometimes..

Other thing i wanted to talk about was kick starting.. did a post on this yesterday for lucky and some how it got lost. The kick only thing is important.. part of that is that the early electragiides had underpowered starters.. first electric leg and first 12 volt were the same 65.. As this was the last of the Pans it's proly the most expensive/collectible Luckys 64 was of course kick only and 6 volt..Beauty of a 6 volt is simplicity, and if your kick only all you need.. the drill.. this is big stuff..

First you have to understand that both cylinders fire on the same cycle.. This is the reason Harleys have that famous po ta to po ta to sound.. if you think of the T's as being the cylinders firing.. This is opposed to the balanced 4 cycle that would fire on every other cycle.. more balance.. but long story here that has to do with flywheel balance.. works.. but obviously and honestly not the most efficient or hamps 200mph (im just wondering what speed id shit at) STI would have that set up..

If you kick'n you most always have a crowd watching.. this is a problem cause the safest way to kick start is kneeling on the seat.. looks sorta sissified... On my first sportster that was the only option.. note here.. you would think a big twin.. defined as 74 and up would be harder to start.. NOPE unless modified the sportster is.. higher compression ration..coupled with the "feel" of being lighter makes the sportie harder.. No way i could kick start either one today.. maybe a flat head with a 5-1 compression ration.. maybe..

Anyway.. the drill.. take it thru 3-4 times..no gas, no elec. this is just to sorta warm up both you and the bike.. then bring it up on compression (see why i explained the firing order) The coolest way (this happens after about 5 beers is with the inside leg on the peddle.. Other words Left leg on the pedal which is on the R side of the bike..If you raise yourself with the bars and come down hard BLAMM.. course you have no guarantee that this cool looking kick start wont launch you right over the other side of the bike.. Standard is just standing over the saddle and use the right foot .. This gives less chance of being launched, but safer.. Then of course if your alone you just kneel and use your right leg.. Lucky hope that brought back some memorys..

spent many times

laying on the ground swearing while holding my knee as i had hyperextended it when the kicker gears slipped thru.Busted a extended kickstand one time right in half, always kicked with my right leg on the compression stroke, looked cool as hell when it worked, and your right you could look down the line of bikes and see who had the sporties, they would be taller while kicking over the bikes...

Elsinor 250

I had a Honda CR250 (Elsinor) back in '79 that my dad bought me, used, that sombitch would literally launch you over the handle bars when it 'kicked back' as it did often (I was ten or eleven). I took the kick start lever off and 'bump started' it in third as a safety precaution....lol

kick in edit..

Forgot to put this is.. saw this down in tucson.. bunch of us were sitting out back (one toke over the line sweet Jesus) of the bar..Life was REAL good.. brother comes out.. We didn't know him, but the real MAC and think he was wearing RSMC..(know it was Christian and 3 piece), and 'think' Riders for the Son is the only 3 piece, and uhh shoot ya as quick as a bandito.. then pray on it course..

Anyway whats cool about this is he starts the bike with his hand.. Did it as he was getting up, but still when you can kick a big twin with your hand, we gave him a standing o. just smiled and rode off..

Wow.. touch of edit needed here..

kick start

or, why padre didn't know I had a sporty.
Really, the dang thing didn't have a kicker. No shaft to mount one on, nothing.
If the electric didn't turn it over, you pushed.
Maybe AMF thought LBC's shins were a liability. Who knows?

ha ha.. that was because they were so hard to start.. The early sportsters were flat heads.. this is the K model starting in 53.. then in 57 they went to OHV.. still kick only till the gear shift went left side in 75.. then think starting in 76 or 77 it went electric, and was from like 80 on ALL electric.. Believe me pard this is a good thing.. little harley history.. the first elec start was not as most folks think in 65.. they tried out the unit on thousands of police 45 trikes from like 58 or 9 on.. women were doing ticket stuff.. the police package could use the 12V system that the starter needed.. So knowing it was inevitable the co tested the same starter that wound up on 65 pans in the 45 trike..

sure is Lee..

amaz'n how a week ago Mitt was hands down winner by all the talking heads.. he was actually last in some polls.. Now it could be a whole new ball game.. Actually im sorta glad.. I just can't get excited about Romney, and when you start stuttering as he did over taxes..afraid to much material for the dems to go after.. Newt has some heavy ass baggage to.. but he can defend himself like Sugar Ray Leonard.. Mohamed Ali...Tommy Hearns..Roberto Duran.. (im bobbing and weaving in az) ((sorta)) uhhh sorry got carried away there.. wish there was a fight on tho.

Mil channel..(pard do you get any cable or sat yet) has a movie tonight.. can't remember what it is.. just saw it advertised once.. set in south pacific WWII..

Sorry your having to work.. is this related to being behind on material earlier, weather, or what. and.. curious.. now that you have a larger choice what are you pack'n..

Guess those were the "box stock" off road king.. With your background im surprised you don't have a sportbike.. Let me rephrase that.. The "dad" in you takes enough risks now.. That is the neat thing about a Harley hamp..due to torque curve, you just ride them different.. ie not as fast.. that wonderful torque pull then ease up.. shift at 5K as opposed to 10.. You would enjoy one brother..

Clint.. that Rokon.. yours our a hope to acquire.. I have thought about a Ural.. the BMW opposed twin flat head copy.. like all about it, and the car is driven.. I was telling daisy i've never had a "hack".. guess you could fill the car with gas like you could fill the Rokons tires, and keep from "flying it".. everyone says a side car is always one step away from panic.

ha ha.. hey we know some stuff bout UPS dont we.. Guys.. Lee "rolled" me some back a year ago or so.. these are the padre specials we talk about.. their now in both the cars, Gloria's nightstand, and sister-n-laws nite stand.. These things are perfect for a light weight or old 38.. make pretty holes to..

Think this started with me taking some brass down to mail.. sent it off to pard.. next thing you know bells and whistles are going off.. Not sure what happened as it was on the TX end but guess the US mail did not take kindly to our bullet sending experiment.. what happened buddy ive slept n stuff since then..

The USPS

has a sniffer or something. Greg's once fired brass was wrapped in plain white paper with address and return on it. When I got it it looked like he had tried to send a block of cheese by way of carrier rat. I reckon they needed to prove the casings were inert. Live and learn.
