government waste
I just had to share this, the other day I was riding through the national forest not to far from my home down a two rut road following a hog trail when i came on a new (or at least a year old) F250 4x4 extended cab ($30,000 easy) painted light green with a federal plate, the driver had stuck this huge pile of money in a hole and requested some assistance in remedying the situation as i helped get the rope tied off he came out from under his rig with some sort of hurry, i questioned him as to the reason at which time he pointed out a rattle snake under his truck, with a round of birdshot we were back to the task at hand. Well in all this I asked what he did for the forest service that brought him way out here, he said he was assigned to drive every single road and path possible counting trees then using an equation to determine the amount of that particular tree per acre. I asked what that kind of thing paid and after explaining the schooling required he said in the area of $40,000 per year. so we can pay some guy $40,000 to drive in the woods in the comfort of a brand new truck. just kind of got me thinking how many folks like him are there, and how much money in my opinion is wasted on that kind of thing. Ok so do any of you know of things like this, I mean im sure some one out there has run into a huge pit whose purpose it is to withdraw money from a federal account we fund as taxpayers, and if so what are they. |

question, you live near US19?
If so was it being worked on when you were little?
If so is it still being worked on?
I know that down here in Pinellas County they have been working on US19 for the last 40 years and were long before that. you would think they would have finished it by now....
Or do you all have the work groups where 5 - 8 stand around jacking their jaws and one is actually doing something with the shovel in his hands other than leaning on it?
lol...
yeah, there is more waste than anyone would care to know for sure.

no im closer to I-75 in lake city, the guy was in osceola, but i have seen that in jacksonville where they have been working on the road for a lifetime, its suppose to be a 3 lane or more but its stuck being a single lane in some areas because of the barriers. not sure of the road name but its off I-10

I did look up us 19 and its still under construction, actually has its own website, myus19.com if thats not a waste of money, a website to convince people the endless delays and road work are worth it.

My mothers side of the family is all from over on that side up in Mayport, Jax Beach and all. I was born in Stuart just north of West Palm, did a stint as a Navy brat before dad got out so moved a few times... Ended up in Saint Petersburg of all places...
