I've been told by several gun smiths not
to use WD on firearms. Use gun oil.
All I can tell you except I don't use it

a 50-50 split on use or not use. Some say
it can make your ammo duds and some say
it's hard on bluing. I don't know, ask around
to people you trust and make your own decision.
I don't think gun oil cost that much no more than I use
so I stay with gun oil and leave the WD for
rusty nuts

I made a belt buckle using 44 mag shells with
new primers. I soaked them 2 days in WD 40
before I put them in. I wanted a darker bluing
so I wiped it again and placed it on a hot plate
All 6 primers exploded WD or not
