Have you ever bought anything that has been manufactured or assembled by blackthron? I'm sure buying kits through them is different, but there are quite a few less than satisfied customers who have purchased complete ARs from them.

My search for reviews on them leads to a lot of bad reviews.

Raper, the only thing I would buy from Blackthorn is the kit. Atlantic has the same kits for a cheaper price though and I have bought from Atlantic and have always been happy. I plan on getting three krinkov kits and 3 bulgarian kits from Atlantic.

Are kits really worth it? ( I never had one) from the tv show ( sons of guns) they said that most the time they just cut them up? Plus can you put the kit together and shoot it and be legal????

tallguy, please ignore what sons of guns tells you they are bound by liberal TV. Kits are everything but the receiver and now original barrel (buy a US made barrel). Some kits come with a new barrel; if you have skills you can build them or have a professional build it. Remember ALL guns are parts put together to become a gun, with these kits you have only to be 922R compliant. Yes you can put these kits together and shoot them as long as you have a A): if a SBR the tax stamp or B): have a fake suppressor welded to the barrel to make it 16 inches.

Ty always wondered sad but have never had time to build them ( building high rises,and doing all the work that I have done). Just read about sons of guns the the feds raid them a while ago and the owner could not build them any more so sold the store to Vince whom just left the show 3 months ago and it is now owned by 2 people not on cam lol.Gee they should put the gun soap opera to bed...............

Nitris,i have been trying to wrestle a AK kit away from this guy that keeps saying he is going to build it,2 years now sitting in his closet,and he scoffs at the 922 compliant so it's probably a good thing he hasn't built it.foolish.

LBC, if the kit has the original barrel and you can get it cheap, try your best to get it. Original barrel kits have gone up and are becoming a rare object. What country is the kit from?
