Question when you go to the Gun Range and bring differant caliber weapons, Do you start lowest to highest caliber or vise versa?
I go out in the woods. I usually shoot whatever one I've been itching to shoot the most though. If all that I've been thinking about is my AR, then I shoot it first. If I've been wanting to work on my draw and 2 to the chest 1 to the head thing then I do that first. There may be a reason to do it in a certain order but I just go with whatever I want to do first.
the reason I ask is cause I've been starting out low. .38 and work my way up to the .45.But it seems my aim goes lower as i move up.
I usually work waaaay too much, so it is a long time between visits to the range. I get a lot of stress relief by going out to the desert and rapid firing the Ruger 10/22, or the Rem 1100
I will normally start with the one that I figure will keep me tuned up for home and personal defense and go from there.
p.s. there are rules at a range that aren't out in the desert. Like 12 rds as fast as I can pull the bang button.
there are ranges and then there are ranges.....i go to 4 differant ranges. one of them is like a little dungeon, where you can get your rocks off....the other three you have rules!!!
Don't get me started about the dumbass rules of Caleefornya. The parks GESTAPO is starting to close down all the areas I go to as well. If I could I'd be in a different state.
I suually just shoot the one I've been itching to shoot the most
i start with whatever i want and if for some reason i develope a flinch or get sloppy on target,i will jump down to a .22 and run thru some drills to get back on track
I mix everything up. no order.
I like to start rifles from a distance and as the day goes on I move closer to the targets for pistol and shotgun drills. I tend to shake more after slugs and buck shot so I leave it for last.
Before getting out of my car, I swap ammo in my carry gun from defense load to practice ammo, so as soon as I set up a target, I draw and fire a few strings with no warmup. Once that's done, the carry gun gets reloaded with defense ammo and then I move on to my longarm. I put my reactive targets (water jugs, steel targets, neighborhood kids, etc..) at varying ranges and engage in whatever order I decide. My order of shooting is chaotic, so don't pay any attention to me. I suck.
