Gunslot, it's nice to have friends with honor
I want to tell all of you guys something great. I don't want to make a big deal about this as it will only embarass a good guy, but it's the sorta thing you hope for in the best of all worlds, so... I posted couple weeks back that Greasy was going to do a project for me, one of my victorys is sorta a "non collector", and i had picked up an old model 10 cheap at a gunshow, so i thought why not make something special out of these two old K frames and have a matched set, thought i would have paws put that beautiful matte blue on them and have the bbls cut from current non matching 5 and 4 to both 3"..do action work, and basicly have myself a "brace" of special pistols. It's no secret that our friend Greasy is going thru a lot right now with health issues, and the bucks are tight, so i was hoping this would be a good deal for him as well.. And it would have been.. He called tonight, he was so serious about wanting to do this job right that he did some research and investigating the bbl change thing.. I won't bore ya with the details, but this has to do with war time metalurgy and greasy wound up spending a lot of time checking, got with a couple of other guys who have a compined experiance of like a hundred years, all because he wanted to do the job right more than he wanted to make money.. refer back to the title... Thanks Greasy, and thanks to all you guys who have become my pards.. a man has to hold his word, hold his beliefs, and hold a good sight picture. |

I remember it clear as day when I got me .410 from him. I talked to him a few days before and he suprised me by saying he re-blued the barrel. (For those who havent seen me .410 refer to greasypaws page and look for it disassembled) When I first saw it it was rusty old antique gun. He cleaned it an blued it for me for free. I didnt ask him to I was just happy to be getting the gun. He said he didnt have to blue it but he did out of kindness in his heart. That shows how kind people you never personally met can be. Greasypaws is a awesome person and an awesome friend. My .410 shows that people like greasypaws can be kind even though they do not personally know you or I.
I personally thank you again and again Mike. God Bless my friend.

Is first class. He's a man's man, and a man of his word.
You know, that's true of so very many members of this site - practically all. We've had some assholes come on, but they're fortunately few and far between. Some of these have shown their colors right away, while some have run their bullshit scams for months. But the vast majority of members here are people of honor, and I feel personally honored and humbled to be associated with you.

Hah hah hah!!! Humbled. I'm not familiar with that concept. Well, there was this one time, I went into a shower trailer in iraq and I was the only white guy in there and all the others were black guys, 6 foot or taller. I was a bit humbled. But I shit in my hands and smeared it on the wall and everybody left pretty quickly. Okay, that was a lie. I threw it up onto the ceiling.
