Have problems with scope lenses fogging on those cold mornings hunting or at the range?Spray a small amount of WD-40 on a scope cloth,(very soft material to prevent scratches on the lenses)then wipe down the lenses of your scope.Use another scope cloth to wipe off the residue.Your lenses will no longer fog up and rain water will run off because of the coating. Also works on binoculars. "There is a time for all things, a time to preach and a time to pray, but those times have passed away. There is a time to fight, and that time has now come." --Peter Muhlenberg, from a Lutheran sermon read at Woodstock, Virginia, 1776

is a petroleum product and can easily eat away at that coating on your optics. I gotta disagree with greasy on this one. There are plenty of alcohol-based anti-fog sprays out there that won't destroy your optics. This is one place to avoid skimping.

it works just fine and costs a couple bucks,i also use it on my goggles and safety glasses to keep the fog away.

I don't use anything. But I don't worry too much about fogging up here. My Wiley-X glasses came with a bottle of anti-fog stuff that I have in case I move back to Missouri or maybe Maine.

Is a banned substance in my shop. It is not that good and has been known to trap moister under it to allow rust to form.
WD-40 will never touch any of my collectable firearms.
Door hinges I might use it on, fire arms NO.
