The dudes over at the Mosin Nagant site would surely kick me out for 'defiling' a Nagant,.........Well to hell with them, I will have a sub $500(+~- depending on optics) rifle which is damn accurate, as smooth and accurate a many that I have fired at three times the price and the 7.62X54mm round will take down 90%of North American game (I will take a 12 ga shottie with slugs for a bear of any size).......

Hamp Nice Nagant

I cant read what ya siad due to the Brownell advertisement being so big lol. I would love to get a bent bolt like that one so I can switch back and forth on my nagant. No reason for it just want to just be cause i can lol last place I check had the bent bolt for 77 dollars WTF?lol Anyways nice nagant. I would like to fool around with a nagant myself. Not the one I got now but I will find a beater to upgrade sooner or later. There are 14 million + nagants out there hahaha!

that 'bent bolt' is out of my sniper variant, I will need to use it when I mount the optics (straight bolt's don't work with scopes). I am conversing with Greasy paws on that subject, 'head space' and all, different bolts with different rifles etc....

Yeah Hamp

I know about the straight bolt Vs. The Bent. The straight bolt is for nuthin fancy nagants and the bent is for sniper variants due to the optics mounted over the reciever. The straight bolt would hit the opticas and the bent bolt solved that prblem. however it has its curse to. Due to the optics the ammo has to be loaded 1 round at a time vs. the straight bolt can utilize stripper clips. Speakin of which do ya know where I can get a coulp 5 round strippers for my nagant? Cant find them in my neighbor hood or a trader jerry's.

If it were a really rare rifle I could see the argument for leaving it all original, but a Mosin Nagant??? I have one Nagant and would like to get a couple more, leave one alone, restore one, and modify one. As cheap as they are it's the perfect rifle for that kind of thing.

I like yours, it'll be a nice gun with a scope on it.

I like it. That is very nice. Like you said, to hell with any detractors. They're probably just jealous.

Sweet! This one of yours is all dressed up just waitin' for places to go. Just one question though; what did you do, if anything, to your trigger? My 91/30 has roughly a 20 lb. pull, even when shimmed out a bit. Where'd the stock come from? I've got an enquiring mind and I just want to know.
