Harry Reid...
Discuss openly...also, I agree with Blagojevich about him being more black than Obama...I mean, who am I to disagree-I don't know anything about him or his background, so I must believe him. But since he brought it up first: I would like to hereby announce: I am blacker than following members of Gunslot: SamD Respectfully Honesty, keep watching because the Democratic party is imploding right now before our eyes! Clinton was called 'the first Black President' based on his roots. He didn't come from a privileged background and grew up relatively poor. One of the things Jesse jackson said during his run for the Presidency, which I happen to agree with, though I'm not a fan of Jackson at all, was, "There are more poor White people in America than there are Black people." he said he was trying to 'change the face of the argument.'
Obama grew up fairly privileged. He went to a high school in Hawaii which has a tuition of something like $17,000 per year and on to Harvard, which tuition is astronomical.
Pkato
really just a comment on what Blagojevic said...but since you asked me, I definitely grew up poor, for sure. When I was a kid we all lived in the same house (mother, two boarders, my grandmother, great grandmother and whoever she took in from time to time). I remember being sent to neighbor's houses for milk or for a dollar to buy food. I remember sleeping in the house during the winter with no heat in the house and all of us huddled in the kitchen around an old cast iron stove...etc etc. I was a happy kid though...I don't look at those times as tough, I look at them as a positive experience. My first two toys I remember came from the garbage...one of our boarders was a garbage man and found two toys he though I might like (Clancy a plastic monkey and some plastic army soldiers)...so he grabbed them and gave them to me--I loved them! I remember walking everywhere, we had no money for even public buses...if we couldn't walk, we didn't go! I remember watching my great grandmother chop up some of our furniture to burn in the kitchen stove for heat. So when my daughter tells me how hard she has it...I just laugh. The funny thing though is..I never complained, mostly because it wouldn't have mattered anyway! WE would still be poor! I shoveled coal, when we could get some. As a kid, I was run over by a car, caught underneath it and drug more than 30 yards...but we never talked about suing or anything, we just demanded that the guy take us to the hospital.
Before I get off my soapbox...My father couldn't pay for me when I was born...28.00 USD!!! He never paid and the doctor never came after him for the money...knowing he didn't have it. Yet, what was cool and a great lesson, my father, later in life when he had some money and started turning things around hunted down the doctor/but he was dead--so he gave the 28.00 dollars to his son, who was also a doctor. So you ask me why I feel more black than you and others...well, all this is not the reason.
I really only said that because my dick is 11 inches...so there you have it!
haha!!!
by the way, all of this is true too...well, most of it anyway.

I grew up poor, but I didn't know it at the time. I was also homeless for awhile, but I never knew that either. I thought I was just in transition. besides, I kinda liked living outside. I thought it was cool.
luckybychoice
as a child if i didn't wake up with a hard on,i had nothing to play with all day.Nyuk,Nyuk
Pkato
lucky woke up with a hard on, he still had very litte to play with...isn't that what you heard schuyler???
Yes I agree...check this out, I would play cowboys and indians with clothes pins...the old style clothes pins...not the snap open ones. You can piggy back one clohes pin on the other and it loosely reminds you of a person on horseback. I can't remember how I distinguished cowboys from indians though
Another one...we always played army...US vs the Japs or US vs the Nazis...it was so cool, we always won too!!! Just like in real life! Our guns were sticks...we would always go out and try to find the straightest stick/branch for our guns and if it had nub on it, like a grip...that was a big bonus. I will never forget the day a neighbor taught me how to make a rubber band gun...holy shit, I thought I was in heaven.
The only things I did as a kid that I got yelled at for were the following:
1. I tried to use my mother's sheet to parachute off the roof
2. I play in an old culm bank (I think that is what is was called/it was a mountain of black coal...man I was filthy, just black--another reason I am blacker than most of you...haha!
3. Climbing and subsequently falling off or out of buildings, trees, walls, etc
4. Of course my mother wasn't too happy when I got hit by the car
5. Sticking a fork in an electrical socket...well, almost, she caught me.
6. Me and friend making swords out of branches, but worse, we used the sidewalk to sharpen the ends...he cut me right above the eye...blood everywhere, but funny thing is, I never went to the hospital.
7. My cousin and I playing with bug spray and me getting sprayed in the eye
8. Crawling into my great grandmother's casket at her viewing and holding onto her and yelling I would not let go, ever...that was pretty embarassing for all my family
9. Cursing once in front of my grandmother...that took years of begging for forgiveness
10. Stealing candy once from the lcoal grocery store (Mom and Pop store) and someone my mother and father knew from church. They marched me back down there and made me admit it and apologize and I had to work for Mr Gross for 1 month, doing whatever he asked me to do around the store, which amounted to taking out trash and sweeeping up...all over about 5-10 cents worth of candy--that shit taught me a great lesson though.

My God! They pay full tuition so you never see a bill, $1000 for books (I think that's for a year), plus E-5 BAH, which for her is something like $1500 a month in San Antonio. My GI Bill was $225 a month, period.
Site sure is slow today.
Pkato
as much as for yourself...think of the examply you are setting and hopefully, afterwards you will find even better employment and end up taking even better care of them...it's all upside.

I'm an Engineering Technician right now, going for my bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering. Yeah much better life for my family, entire reason I'm doing it.

that she is not on the 'Wait" list which allows her to enroll in school even though the VA hasn't paid yet. She's a very shy girl, so she calls them up and says, "Don't blame me for your mistake. That's not my problem. You knew I was a Vet. You get me on the fucking list before you don't have a fucking job!"
Then she calls me up and says, "Daddy, I just said I didn't wear a uniform for six years just to let some fucking admin puke jerk me around.'
She's so cute; and she still calls me 'Daddy.'
They put her on the list.
Pkato
and someone that can see what HE/SHE needs to make a better life! Great job...I mean that and don't get discouraged. I honestly wish you the best!
