Health Insurance
I would like to retire this fall and asked HR for the cost of our retiree insurance. I was shocked to read that it will be $900./month. I have Medicare but my wife does not. It would drop to about $600./month when she does. For those that have purchased private insurance, is this a reasonable cost for a retiree benefit? I have never bought insurance before. What companies should I check? Thanks guys, It's too late for me, save yourself. |

This is something to check out. That is no deal they are offering you. What it sounds like to me is they are attempting to recover lost policy revenue form the group policy provided to your employer.
AARP also has information for those who retired before retirement age which might give you some direction on this.
