Hi All from Australia

G'Day from Western Australia
just wanted to say Hi to all other Gunnas out there and carry on the family gun tradition passed down from my Dad to me as he was a Sniper team leader with the Auissie SAS and passed his skills, control book on to me before he passed away.
So once again Hi to everyone.

An Auissie? Cool... We'll all gather around and fix up some prawns. I think that's what they're called.

Fall back to the basics...

Hey Sniper, I was over your way, way back and mostly I remember the f**king hordes of flies in the bush, not the prawns... but when I got near a diner on the edge (coast) the prawns were tops, thanks!

We've got them also...

Hide in the mud flats and when the Sun goes down they come out in big ass clouds of them. Freaking mean little bastards too Y'all got Deer and Moose(Horse) flys up that way?

I got bit by a Moose Fly and the damn thing took a chunk of meat out of my arm, up in Maine while stomping around looking for a Deer to flush down near the marsh.

LOL LBC

My wife got chased back to the cabin the first morning when I took her up to Maine to meet my fathers side of my family. She never had used an out house before and bitched about it to me before getting up and going out to it. Then I hear the dang door slam from the spring that kept it closed and her screaming wacing her hands over her head high tailing it for the cabin door.

I opened it and she ran in and turned around as I closed it wondering what was up and she tells me "I hate you" LOL

Taking baths in that Mountain run off fed Lake pissed her off to no end too. Never gets above 60 degrees with all the springs and run off feeding it.

LOL

A decade back my girlfriend took me to some dreamy spot in the Everglades. We wondered through this wet 'ole forest 'til we came to this magical water where some local Native Americans were fishing... As we turned to leave a buzzin' started up and within fifteen metres the biggest f**kin' mosquitos I've ever laid eyes on came at me, not her, me! Bloody hell, they're like the Grande Vespas in central Italy and as mean. I like to think I ain't scared of anything but hands up folk, I ran like greased lightning. Nobody's seen shit 'til the see this things in the Everglades!... Oh, by the way, I married the darn gal.

re: Mosquitoes, nothing is as big or many as the ones in Alaska in the summer. They sound like seagulls, when they flap their wings. This was back in the mid 60's at Mt McKinley Park. Buddy of mine fell asleep without his repellant on and his face was hardly recognizable.
No doubt about the Glades skeeters. I have 2 daughters living in Florida.
