“He” is Paul M. Langone, an off-duty security guard who happened to be at Mass General when a mental patient was trying to stab Dr. Astrid Desrosiers to death yesterday.
He confronted the attacker, ordered him to drop the knife, and when the attacker refused, Langone shot and killed him. Dr. Desrosiers is in stable condition and lucky to be alive.
Lucky because, if our Attorney General Martha Coakley had her way, she would be dead and her killer would be sitting in a nice warm cell.
You see, Martha Coakley supports massively restrictive gun control and she explicitly “discourages self help.” In other words, unarmed, law-abiding citizens suffer at the hands of criminals while waiting for the police to show up. If her scenario had played out, Dr. Desrosiers would be dead and the killer would still be alive.
She also opposes the death penalty in ALL cases, which would include Osama bin Laden. And despite the various rapes and murders committed by crimmigrants here in Massachusetts, she opposes any enforcement of any law related to criminal immigration—including state tax and ID theft laws.
Oh, did I also mention she’s a shoo-in for US Senate?
