Any opinions on the HK USP .40 out there. I have fired a few HKs before and loved them just want to know what others say about this particular weapon before purchasing.

Nice handguns. reliable, and accurate with practice. Of coarse anything HK made is usually quality made. Let's just say I wouldn't kick it out of bed.

I owned an HK USP .40 cal with a stainless steel slide. I carried it on duty as an armored car guard. it was a great gun, very accurate, never jammed, and fit my hand like a custom made glove. It was a gun that I felt confident in trusting my life with. The only minuses other than price that i have is the fact that standard accessories like a laser or light will not fit unless you use an adapter or HK name brand stuff and the rough grip is great for controlling the gun but it will be rough on your side if you carry it concealed, its kinda wide to carry concealed to, but I had no problems other than slightly less comfort. I put a houge wrap around grip with finger grovves on it and it greatly increased the comfort feel and control of the gun, but then again, i have basket ball crushing sized hands and needed a little larger grip. all in all great gun, i'd recommened getting one in what ever caliber/color suits you. I regret selling mine.

I was a strange man when I turned 21. It was not to the local pub, bar, or water hole, it was to the gun store. I purchased an HK USP in the 45 caliber back in 1993. I have shot home made cast lead bullets, reloads, facotry, just about everything you can think of and I have never had a jam, short slide, stove pipe, etc. My only complaint is that it runs out of ammo too quickly... ;)

I have the first generation and love it. I wish I would have stayed with HK when I purchased my everyday carry, but i could not afford the ~$1000 for the compact.
