Ahkmed the Arab came to the United States from the Middle East , and he was only here a few months when he became very ill. He went to doctor after doctor, but none of them could help him. Finally, he went to an Arabic doctor who said: 'Take dees bucket, go into de odder room, shit in de bucket, piss on de shit, and den put your head down over de bucket and breathe in de fumes for ten minutes.' Ahkmed took the bucket, went into the other room, shit in the bucket, pissed on the shit, bent over and breathed in the fumes for ten minutes. Coming back to the doctor he said, 'It worked. There's no way in the world to prepare someone for travel in third world nations.. You can read all the guide books you want.. The first time you go into a toilet and see holes on one side and a trough of the other its like ...hmm.. Then when your either standing or squatting at said structures, and you have a young woman (in my case it was one i had just been talking to at the bar) come in and squat next to you..
Nothing in my 19 or 20 years on the planet had prepared me for that.. And of course it was the first of many WTF moments.. Third words nations are amazing.. Everyone, and anyone who questions our quality of life should see how others live..

It's eye opening...remind me to tell everyone about the time
in Korea I was away from the base, ate two Otis Spunkmeyer
chocolate muffins and ended up at a Korean squat outhouse!
This is one day I will never forget and I learned a valuable lesson
that day that would have been required reading for all if I were
writing travel books! Squat toilet work best if you take your
underwear and pants off at least one leg!!!! Haha!
