Been working on an older house I bought. I've been buying alot of building materials from home depot mainly because I got a 10 % discount as a vet. Their policy used to be 10% off of anything in the store if you were active military or vet. Went to home depot yesterday to buy some redi mix, mortar mix, lumber etc. go to check out and show them my ID for discount and the clerk says no more discount on almost all items, shows me the memo from HQs.I call home depot HQ and ask them how do I know what items are still discounted since there is no way to know in the store until the clerk rings up the sale. They say thats the way it is and there won't be any way to know if an item is a discount or not as they are adding items every day to the no discount list. Will be buying my stuff at the local mom and pop lumber yard from now on

HD and Vet discount

Hate to hear about that. Not that I could use it but it sounds like you were making good use of it.
Well, mom and pop inc. should treat you pretty well.
Hope you are feeling well. Did you get any rain late yesterday? Artesia got a sprinkle and a high wind, mostly wind.

10%

I'm pretty sure that's everywhere, TG. I remember they had that in SC, too.

is about 35 miles to the east of here. Lowes is 20 and last time I was there it was 10% off all items. Remodel & repair of 2 rentals and try to upgrade this dump has run into serious $$$, I saved a shiite-load of money. Sure hope they don't stop the vets discount!

Home depot

Okay I now have to take back every bad thing I said about home depot. The local Vietnam Vets Org. got land donated to build a veterans memorial cemetary. Our local home depot put up chain link fence around the entire acreage to the tune of $18K of their money
