Anybody use Hornady's Lever Evolution Ammo in a Lever gun??? Looked @ it the other day and it seemed pretty revolutionary because it is pointed, not rounded like every Lever Gun ammo I have ever seen until now. The tip is a rubber-like material, but is it safe?

is very safe!when hornady first loaded the ammo they loaded up a 30-30 lever gun then went up on the roof of their facility and dropped the rifle butt first, when it hit nothing went off!(true story)i have used it in my marlin model 36 and i have used it in a S.M.L.E. i have that is converted to .444 Marlin.i have recommended this ammo to a couple buddies that like their lever guns and they were both impressed with the improved accuracy and range out of their old guns.it works VERY WELL on deer and coyotes!definitely worth the extra bones
