how do you tell if a weapon has never being fired?Are there ways to make it seen so? |

It is very difficult. Gun residue test? All new handguns are fired at the factory for government to data base shell markings, etc. Know your seller.
I like the idea that it was fired, It Works.

There are areas that you can check to look for tell tale sighns of being previously fired. Minimal use is somewhat hard to detect, but long term use is easier. Places to look vary between weapons, but here are a couple ideas to start. Check the hammer and where the hammer hits the firing pin, check the firing pin for wear and the firing pin channel for filth, check any gas pistons or tubes for filth and wear, check the bolt face for imprint of casing bases, check slide guides for wear. Those ar a few that I can think of right now. Basicly anywhere that moves when firing, check it out.

i would also smell for gunpowder. this should be easy to get around, but if some1 is tring to sell you a gun under false pretenses there probly pretty lazy, and its surprising how often the little thing are overlooked.
