2012 will be full of problems to solve---both the personal kind and the political kind, among others.
Since this year, I will become an octogenarian [ means "really old fart" ], I want you to know I am a wizard of the problem solving process. And so, I will share with you some advice that you might find useful. My definition of the term problem, is "an undesireable/undesired condition".
First: If you are unable to state a problem properly, you will have little probability of solving it. We, who are the good workers in the USofA, have been greatly affected by the Protestant Work Ethic [PWE]; the effect PWE has on our work habits is not a function of our personal religious beliefs or lack of them. PWE is a value system that teaches us hard work, fast work and high "productivity" is devinely to be pursued. PWE has been infused into our industrial psyches, and thereby many times has trapped us into faulty problem solving. [THIS is going to piss you off]. Did you ever solve a serious problem and implement a solution, only to find the solution did not "work".?? This happens every day, in a myriad of situations, throughout the good old USA, mostly because we are in such a blasted PWE hurry to "fix it", AND it happens REPETITIVELY for the same problem that did not get fixed on the first try. This is a characteristic of we USA Americans. Time is money, and we are so arrogant about our smarts, that we can come up with a fix very quickly, even though we taught the Japanese and others NOT TO DO THAT!!
ALL the BEST for 2012 to you and your families, from Maw and Paw LLE, and Addie the German Shepherd.
