Hmmmm

I'm always trepidatious about buying a gun without shooting it, but, sometimes you just know it's right for you. Good luck, Moe.

Yeah

So you end up having to kinda take a leap of faith, but, when it's an established company like Sig Sauer it's a little safer leap. A leap with a net, if you will.

In that case

I would be looking at about $1000 versus $1400, and while that's a good discount, I don't really think that gun is that much superior to my Springfield XDm to merit spending another $400 above on it.

Cheap Glocks

Well, my dad always said you get what you pay for. And, yes, the Springfield is a little more expensive than the Glock, sometimes a lot more so, but I think as far as safety goes the XD and XDm are lightyears ahead of the Glock with the double safety system. I think a Glock is a fine weapon, though.

Handling

I had a slight problem with mine because I was using the short 13 round mag instead of the full sized 19 rounder, making it a little tougher for me to get the kind of grip I want with my large hands. But, I shot an amazing group and was thoroughly impressed with it.

Whats up with everyone.. Guys when someone gets a new gun it's "celebrate" time..

I thought recoil in the small size .40 would be a handfull.
I've gotten to where shooting my 1911 .45 is hard on my wrist, after 10rds I'm ready to go read a book or take a nap. I keep telling myself I'll get a wrist brace, sometime...
Can't wear my shooting glasses, have to wear reading glasses to see the front sight. Have to wear "ear muff" hearing protection because my hearing aids won't let me use foam ear plugs.

Sheesh, I'm a wreck, maybe I should take up crocheting

I shoot the 9mm because I bought this particular gun for some security work I'm going to do and the company mandates the 9mm. I do however have a compact .40 and .45 and have had trouble handling neither of them.

Sig VS. Springfield..

I owned 2 XD 9's, and both were great pistols. I also own a Sig 225, and shot a 220 on a regular basis. While the Sigs cost much more, I have to say I prefer the Sig. IMO the feel is better, it shoots smoother, maybe inherently more accurate ( but wouldn't bet on it, my XD's were dead on), and more controllable recoil. I know that XD's have minimal recoil but every little bit helps with follow-up shots. I also prefer the SA/DA trigger with the decock lever. I'm comfortable with the XD's design, but my better half was uncomfortable with it. Think it just boils down to personal preference, both are great designs.

Gotta agree with Ronin

on the Sig. I love my Springfield 1911, but the XD just doesn't do it for me. I don't like it for the same reasons I don't like the Glock. The Sig is a great pistol and is one not-a-1911 that I would want. My brother has a P226. I like the easy decock lever and I love the take-down. I thought the 1911 was easy, but this one made it even easier.
I would really love the P210. I wish it was still produced so it wasn't so hard to get one.

P 210

That's one I'd love to pick up! I've only ever seen one though and the guy wanted like $1200 for it.
