I have a ?

How do all of you feel about 22.....I for one contend that it is lame.....great for cheap target and whatnot but otherwise lame....and quite honestly I am sick of seeing so many great guns neutered by this ammo.....

good for what its worth. cheap range ammo and good for learning/teaching to shoot. also good for very small game. you're not gonn invade a country with 10/22's but they're still fun to shoot

I've probably shot 100s of thousands of .22 rounds at ground sqirrels in our alfalfa fields and it was a good way to pass the time as well as learn to shoot. I think .22s are a great round to introduce children to shooting as well as women who aren't sure about firearms. It's great for rabbits too. Hell its family fun for all ages!

above...a great way to hone some skills, without paying a fortune. I am lucky enough to have a decent job, but I still don't want to spend a lot on ammunition. With 22s to shoot, I will end up on the range more often than if I just was shooting more expensive ammo. Plus many don't have the money to buy, say a mp5 in .9mm or .45 which is about 1500.00...but you can get mp5 in .22LR way cheaper. Plus you still get a chance to shoot that stype weapon...just sayin.

My Dad always said that in his 25yrs of service with the Houston Police dept, he had seen many people killed with .22's. Yeah theyre small, no they dont pack a punch, but when they hit bone they usually fragment and/or deflect all over the place causing a lot of damage. The damage may not be massive, but very wide spread. It is very hard for docs to put'em back together agin with that little lead slug splintered all over the targets rib cage.

Assassins favorite weapon is a 22 subsonic silenced. Head shot bullet bounces about in the head killing the victim, nothing anyone can do to save you.

haha yeah until it doesn't work anymore.....I was watching a documentary on a mobster who was shot in the back of the head 3 times with .22 and the bullets didn't penetrate the skull they just went around the outside of the skull and stopped about halfway.....oh yeah that was from point blank

mp5 22lr

i have a gsg5 mp5 22lr there great guns high cap mags and i can put all the 22lr in the center of a target at 50 yards away it leaves a pretty good size hole when you add up all the little ones theres no recoil for very accurate fowllow up shots i would say the more shots on target downrange the deadlyer

I have seen the GSG5

Was interested in how they shot. Great looking little gun. Hope to buy one sometime.

But

How would you feel if that was the only ammo you could use?

Hollowpoints in a ruger are the mob hit man gun with a 8 inch barrel and silencer. They will not just put 3 rounds in you. But as many as it takes.
