My family surprised me with a few hundred bucks a few days ago for passin my college classes last semester and told me to go and buy something I wanted and well I wanted a gun. With the money I had I had enough for 2 guns and a bit of ammo.

I bought me a 1943 Mosin Nagant which came with 2 ammo pouches the russian cleaning kit and Bayonet.

Secondly I bought a Universal M1 Carbine with a 15 round Mag which I did a bit of research and found out its a Generation 3 version.

As some of ya all know I have been wanting a Nagant for a long while and now I finally have one!

And the M1 Carbine is awesome I love it also!

I had both too long ago.First make sure the NAGANT bolt has little play or non as mine had a lot had to send it back (gun smith said do not shoot it) as I got it with my FFL ( did not renew).

My M1 look like a old tommy gun but came off 2 30 rd mags with holder clip was very nice.
Have fun with them and you can still get the 7.62x54 let us know how they shoot how far away the target is and lots of pics.TY

Will post pics a soon as I can. As for shooting the nagant yes already gave it a once over and then just to be sure I looked it over again and its in need I say perfect order. And I shot it and it is very excellent in accuracy but have not made any long shots yet. Will try to this week though.

As for the carbine it needs a but plate as it didnt have it on it when I bought it. Any suggestions on where I could get one? As for shooting it it works fine and I love the look of it with the wannabe heat guard lol. I may put me a cheapy red dot on it soon and also try and get a 30 round mag for it.

I will post pica this week sometime of them.

Sounds like you did really good on your grades which is fantastic.

Both should be years of fun for you and are great additions to expanding your collection. Sounds to me like Deer season this year will be a blast!

check out BuyMilSurp for parts that you might want to add or need for both.

I'll dig around and find it for you. They actually had the Nagant factory Russian Scope mount listed along with some other stuff that that came with the original equipment for them.

The prices on the links ya already posted were excellent. I seen some EB ammo and thinking on stockin up on it for my Nagant. I am sure they have the corrosive primers but I can clean my gun easily though. I clean all my guns like a religin anyways lol!

yes, almost all the mil surp x54R ammo is corrosive. Just use windex to clean it after you get done shooting. You can find brown bear, silver bear, or golden bear for not much more and they're not corrosive.

The nagant I have shoots excellent to be 68 years old. And for lack of a better term its in great condition. You should consider pickin up a M1 carbine also. The one I have is a lower class than an auto ordnance or other brands but its is just as good in my book. Universal M1 Carbines like mine are good for those who want a M1 carbine but cannot afford the fancy kind.

As for my nagant I aint gonna do anything special to it. I like it the way it is. As for the carbine I plan to fit me a cheapy red dot to it and other stuff to give it a more "Tacticool" look.

Billy lets me shoot his Inland M1 Paratrooper if I want to drive by and pick it up on the way to the range and my Brother has a Winchester he picked up years ago.

I wish there was a Guns for sale Forum because I am going to have a list of over 50 desirable Rifles and Pistols here pretty soon that Billy is getting rid of. He is cutting back on some of the ones he never shoots anymore and are not part of his Keeper Collection.

Some very nice weapons and many will be at very good prices, some hard to find too...

I was shooting a Walther P88 today which was NIB he has had in a safe for years. I'm betting he will have some firearms that quiet a few on the site will want. Though I have first dibs on a few of them and some others I want he is putting back until I can buy them.

Nice

Thats great ISD however gonna hold off on buyin guns for a few months. Time to rack up my ammo count.

I found some russian ammo for my nagant for 87.99 for 440 rounds gonna make an order on that here in a few days.

As for .30 carbine ammo wish I could find cheaper than 14.99 for 50. Any links ya have for cheap .30? It aint like I need anything fancy right now. Just want to send a few rounds in my carbine down range. I got a box of wolf 50 rounds for 15.99 at trader jerry's wish I could find cheaper ammo to have fun with and save me some good ammo for hunting.
