This morning I deleted all your mountaineering photos & stories. I know I had granted permission for you to post them. They have caused myself and over 10 of our most revered members great consternation. Whether or not you accomplish your task of scaling these death traps, will no longer be our concern.

This sight is going to return to it's original objective, guns and camaraderie. I myself am very guilty of the Political overposting and I will cease and desist.

Ironkoji, Ryo & Ryu to be believable on your shooting prowess and the amount of weapons you own, please post some personal pictures with you your weapons and targets. This will alleave the concerns of some members.

No longer may you use this site to do your clandestine gun design unless you share everything with all the memebers. You all have personal emails, please use them for this task rather than our PM system.

I hope everyone understands and I think and election process is necessary for President of this site. As of Dec 31st, I will no longer be President of this site. I think a fair election process is necessary. A President should try to be fair, articulate and somewhat interesting. I have tried although not always succeeding. I have enjoyed my tenur, but it is someone elses turn.

Thanks samD

P.S. The following is for the whole membership:

If you are going to post pictures and articles that have already been posted, please make a good effort to check first. I will be deleting all double posted pics and articles. I know some as myself were in a points race. I did it for a very particular reason. I wanted to oust the then President, who was a complete bully and not a good leader for this site.
I accomplished this and some months ago, I had the owners stop giving me points for anything that I posted. I post for the good or bad of the site.

Sam please read

I opened runaways post before yours, and while i wont comment on any of the other issues as frankly they dont concern me, and im the new guy on the block so dont figure i have that right, least compared to you old timers. I DO know this much, The way you have delt with this problem, and your post shows your character. If public corporations took the same quick action to solve a problem, i don't think we would be in the trouble we are today. As to the President thing, unless you DONT want the job, you have my vote. Seems to me you are doing a great job, and i sorta like things as they are. Including you as President. Besides who's gona keep Ebear in line if you step down?

You may be able to decern on your own. I am not trying to be rude. But, I doubt that any of us have the time to answer your question. It is somewhat like asking how Einstein came up with E=mc2

The whole points system is simply a way to acknowledge contributions to the site. Someone with a 'higher' rank has contributed more. That's all. In ANY points system on ANY forum, there will always be people who want more points and will work for them. The points system rewards contributions, but not quality of contributions. Someone who answers a post with a two word reply gets the same point as someone who spends an hour composing a 3,000 word, heavily researched response. I've done both.

Our President, SamD, has contributed mightily to this site. He has invested hours and hours contributing posts and content. He deserves his rank. He ALSO has been awarded 'moderator' status. This is a completely different issue and has nothing to do with his rank, except insofar that he was noticed by the owners. I think it is importnat to keep these two issues separate.

I don't take my rank seriously as a rank. It is only a relative measurement of my contributions. Your rank is not your reputation on this site. Your reputation is, at least on this site, not quantitative; it is earned by making insighful posts.

To make these ranks into an election circumvents their original intent. It also makes a totally automatic process manual. That means extra work for someone. They will have to change the code.

I, for one, appreciate some of the political discussions we have here. I don't have another place to go where most of the posters are more or less 'on my side' in the issues we discuss. The other major forum where I am a frequent visitor is solidly liberal in attitude, but the subject is not political, so I just keep my conservative thoughts to myself. (Except for Global Warming where I am kicking their collective butts to Antarctica and back.) So i hope the 'politics' portion does not end here.

I also appreciate some of the lovely ladies we see on here. I don't think that should be excessive or primary, but it adds a little quality of life here hat would otherwise be just a bunch of testosterone-laden men talking about guns. I like that, too, but life is more than that.

I've often likened this place to a neighborhood bar where people come to shoot the bull. If it's a Steelers' bar, then we pretty well know we all support the Steelers, but that's not the only subject that comes up.

Cut people some slack. After all, we put up with Snaks. And let's just have some fun.

we don't talk much, but we don't fight either. on this issue about the site, ryo is in 100 percent agreement with you. wish everyone would adopt this type of attitude about the site. for example, ryo not say much about politic issues here, that not mean that don't read and try to learn. ryo is disappoint about samD's decision to remove our serie on the mountains, but if he see some reason for doing this, ryo is not going to make fuss about it, even though am very disappoint as is little brother, and not see what harm it do. is just interesting fun thing to discuss with other friends on here and can hardly see how pictures and discussions about mountains can possibly hurt the site. even so ryo not think it worth making fuss about so will just go along with it and someday maybe this will change and little brother and ryo will be allow to post about this. it certainly not hurt anything.
as usual, you are well-spoken and what you said was well thought out too.

I could not be more with you on this. I can honestly say I have never thought about a "point" count one time when ive been on this site. I enjoy being around people that share my values, that i respect. Hell i put a post up about it one time, this place matters to me. I think we should all give Sam a vote of confidence for the great job he's doing. I know this much it honestly scares me to think what would happen to a place i enjoy if we had an election, i can see the politics, and people trying to get each others vote.. NO THANKS .. I want none of that crap (the thought has my Christian butt swearing..shame on me) If Sam steps down, and i hope with all my heart he does not. I think he, or the owners should appoint some one.. Some one like Sam, someone with a lot of time on this site, like Sam, who can shares our politics, like Sam, Who has a great since of humor, like Sam. Someone who's tec smart, like Sam.. Hey how bout we make Sam pres.

for you and your family to post some of your achievements? Most of us here have voluntarily done it in the spirit of camaraderie. There is no rule for it. We would just like to see your shiny faces, guns and targets.
This is a family.
By the way I just shot 200/200 at 5000 yds with my new 10/22 Ruger with mini Mag ammo. Thanks to greasypaws zeroing in my scope and that was standing, no bench rest. Oh sorry I lost the pics and video of this.
See what I mean?

You and your family asked me to sign a letter of confidentiality to see you "Top Secret" gun designs. How ridiculous was that? I did refuse, because quite honestly I thought it a waste of my time...

The only reason we are losing members sam is because of you. You talk about the last president being a butthead and here you are doing the same thing as the last guy. Plus to think that Ryo asked you if it was ok to put up the mountain photos and you said yes that it was ok. You said no porn and then here you go and put up porn and don't stop it when you should have. I have never seen any picture from you showing how good a shot you say you are. I could go on and on, but I will stop here.

Take a look at your own pics Vic, before you sully my name. I did post a pic of a target that I shot. I was being facetious about the 200/200 at 2000 yds with a 10/22. I think anyone with half a brain could figure that one out. I was trying to make a point. I have never claimed to be a Marksman, although I do have my marksman ribbon from the AirForce.
Vic please go on and on, as it just reinforces my point.
I had too many complaints to leave those pics up, it wasn't the pics as much as the absurdity of that climb. We were losing members because of it.
Vic you are the "ONLY" person that has stood up for Ryo in this, so you are a minority to this cause. I tried not to air this in public, but you percipitated it. You have accomplished your goal.

a Snake by any other name would slither and bite just as well. But if he denied his lineage as a reptile, maybe we might call him "Foxxy", in honor of his Avatar. Or perhaps a Native American name as--"Cutter-hound", or perhaps, the scientific name, "Canis Familiaris" or "Canis" for short.

I don't like "Snaks", either.

Being lied to. I don't know what to believe. First you're married and 'Mrs. Snake' gets on and refuses to have a picture of 'her' posted. Then you're going to have a kid. Then you're not married at all. Then you say you killed a coupla guys. I have no idea what is true and what is not.

That's what I mean about reputation. It's all about trust. I have lost faith. If there were a real 'Snake' on here whom I could trust with telling the truth, I'd be happy to call him 'Snake.' But I don't know who the real 'Snake' is at all.

Every time you get upset over 'snaks' that's just fuel on the fire for someone to do it again. If you'd just chill out, it would all go away in a matter of days. God help you if you ever do join the service. Nicknames there are earned; you don't dictate what they are.

1st. unless you have a disability in which your mind lets you speak in two languages, enough with the damn japenese.this is an american website in the US.I deal with the language barrier with LD because of his condition.otherwise, shut up!

2nd. I am probably one of the most senior members of this site as most of you know.I have been here thru all the changes and revamps that make this site a living breathing part of my life.sometimes the changes are good and sometimes bad.I do know that people come and go here.I have made many friends who i talk to regularly away from here.some of these friends have chosen to no longer be a part of this site.that is their choice not mine.i come and go here as i please. As for the whole president status,Sam D has honestly earned it with the number of legitamate postings he has made here.not by being a points whore like some of those folks out there.Sam is doing a fine job.He is also a moderator, which means being the bad guy as well as the good guy.I have posted before about too much this or that and as a whole "we" have all agreed or disagreed about these things and the necassary changes have taken place, albeit slowly at times.this site is run on a consensus of the members.it always has.some of you have expressed an interest in my being president were it to come to an election.I appreciate that enough of you think highly enough of me to step into a position like that.but i will humbly decline.I want to just hang out at my local "website" and blow off steam at the end of the day around people who i like to BS with.I also like to contribute my gunsmithing info and pictures of work i do.this site is based on honesty.we all cant see the whites of each others eyes,so our words and honesty take that place.there have been a few members that havent always been honest about who and what they are.hence they get labeled as such.others, for reasons of their own dont want or cant publish pictures or reveiling info.that is fine.but dont get pissed off when your honesty is questioned.pictures speak a thousand words.i back my words with pictures,as do lots of us.how do i know if someone really owns that earsplitzenloudenboomer rifle if i dont see a pic or video of them shooting it.i dont.nor can anyone else.just my two cents on this stuff.

samD does a great job. I don't mind the political stuff because living out here it's hard to find like minded people so I can blow off some steam with people who understand. But I hate when people want to harm our president, enough of that crap. Most people on this site are great and I love to hear from them but it would be a shame to lose these people because of petty bullshit.

actually would prefer 2 twenties, if it wouldnt put you out to much. lol
I just can't shoot the big guns anymore, my arthiritic hands and joints just rebel too much afterwards. I stick to my 9mm Glock19 and which I will put an extended ported barrel on to more reduce perceived felt recoil.

Just my opinion

There are a wide variety of things to discuss and look at on here, but there is always someone who will find something to Bitch about. I haven't contributed as much as i could or should have, but i enjoy the time i do spend here. The people and there opinions bring variety and that is what makes this such a good site. But then again that's just my two cents.

The comments I made reference political posts were not a complaint about the posts on here. I only stated that I was getting angry with all the articles and posts. The more I read, the more angry I got with what was going on in our nation. I am a much happier person now that I have conducted ostrich operations and stuck my head in the sand. Ignorance truly is bliss, I suppose. As for the Koji/LD/SIB family, I don't really care whether they're legit or full of shit. If something sounds ridiculous (ie... a 5.56 putting out 5,000 ft/lbs of energy), I'm gonna call someone on it. Anyone. The wonderful thing about this site is that I don't have to read posts if I don't want to. LD and SIB's posts about various military strategists and weapns used by military forces are completely in keeping with the theme of this site, I just don't care. So I don't read them. Others may. As for the naked pics, I enjoy them, for the most part, as I am a guy. But when people post a pic that was posted a day prior or even that day, it becomes ridiculous. If you're going to post a pic you found elsewhere online, might I suggest going into pictures, setting to most recent, and going 5 or 6 pages back? There are a lot of pics, and I have been guilty of posting pics already here, but not without a real attempt to make sure mine's original. There are people here, as everywhere, who are not to be taken seriously. Snake, Who you are and what you've done makes no difference to me. You are not the resident sniper expert because of what your grandpa may have done. I will tell you that there are people here with enough experience that you are not going to impress everyone. I could very easily talk about the missions I went on while my squad was attached to special forces, talk about the people I splattered when I threw grenades into their houses, talk about the times I stood on the skids of an AH-6 Little Bird, shooting people from above, but none of it would be true. I have done enough that I could lie very convincingly (sp), but what purpose would that serve? Just be yourself and if people can't respect who you are, fuck 'em.

Hah hah ha, concise?

You must be getting old. So, Milwaukee's Best Ice, Budweiser, MGD, PBR, all of these are wonderful. Bud Light, not so much. I drink coffee now, drink beer, watch truck racing and monster jam, and drive a big-ass pickup truck. I CAN FEEL MY NECK GETTING REDDER AND REDDER!!!!

let me know when you feel like eating pig grilled over coals. we do one at least once week. feel like mod bogging.??? nothing like using the 10' gator in the swamp as a marker to turn around.. hey its all good..i would like to say someting about whats been going on...i feel that a small group like this gets growing pains from time to time. and people what to take a larger role in things and other people don't want to give up control and this leads to friction. also like a family we show each other respect for so long that sooner or later someone will blow their top, not from real anger but from holding back a problem with the things being posted...it comes out as anger but i feel its more frustration...i am comming up on a one year anniversery on this site and soon after that as a gun owner...could not have done it without the help of you guys

No pig on the grill

Put that fucker in the ground oven wrapped in banana leaves and bury his ass for a day. I've always been a bit of a hillbilly/trailer park trash. I'm very adept at relighting pilot lights blown out in drafty trailers, like the "gamy" taste of freshly killed squirrel and rabbit, and count my year and a half as a Waffle House employee as a turning point in my life. I do like muddin'. Apparently, Missouri has no open container law, so my wife introduced me to "road tripping", which is like spotlighting, except the driver is sober, everyone else is drunk and armed, and the deer are terrified. Looking forward to putting that Ranch Hand Legend 4" pipe and 12 ga steel bumper on my truck and taking it road tripping. Bet I get more deer than drunk guys with bows and guns. I agree with the respect thing. There are people here who I would not associate with in the real world, but because they are here, I either try to get along, or at least hold my tongue. This is not normal for me. Unlike many people online, I actually do talk shit to anyone I feel needs it, regardless of how big or scary they are, and trying to play nice with everybody is not something I'm used to.

I do have to say,

The claims made by LD about Koji's experiences and the family's weaponry do count as outlandish, so I think pics to support some of these claims would be in order. Unless that violates OPSEC or some sort of nondisclosure agreement with the Israeli government. Just a thought.

for 6 of them and climbing 5 mountains over 25,000' with electronic oxygen generators, solar powered computers with internet hookups so they would transmit real time pictures back to us peasants here on earth. They were preparing artic rifles and were going to be gone 3 months.
Well my BS meter went way off the charts. Ryo has CP, albeit mild in his words, Nick(Ironkoji) just had bypass surgery and I think has COPD.
I asked of the expense of all this and they said they doing it on a shoestring budget. Well IMHE this trip as stated would probably cost between $250,000 to $500,000 US. Transportation, lodging, guides, climbing permits can be up to $60,000 per Mt to climb. I was just somewhat curious as to how a ex CIA/Israeli/Nihongo heli pilot, man o war could do all this on his disability retirement pay?
Ryo had asked to post a few pics of some mountains, so I said OK. Then all this unfolded as the imagination ran wild. We were starting to lose members and I had many complaints re: this series and was aked if there was anyway that I could curtail this whole nonsensical series. So I as Moderator, told Ryo to cease and desist and then deleted the series, so we could get our gun members back.

samD is the only one I

samD is the only one I believe should be POTS (President of this Site). I don't want this site to change from what I know it to be. The friends I have here, I respect no matter if their opinions differ from mine. I am getting to know you people and I appreciate open debate. I really appreciate learning from those of you that have a lot more time behind a trigger than myself.

like some of you have said I think that an election would just be shooting this site in the foot. Polotics ruins the best of men. I am still new to here but ive grown fond of a couple of you on here and I enjoy the conversations and topics we discuss. I lookforward to getting on here and seeing what everyone says everyday and I get on here everyday. I do feel its like a great bar where all the people with my like mind hangs out. I couldnt see anyone else being president, and for that matter why does it even matter who is "president" hes a moderator and thats not something points decide. Id hate to leave this site over some stupid highschool bullshit that some idiots start. Also as for those of Japanese descent. this is America, assimilate or leave. I dont believe there is room for two languages here in America and if you want to be an American they must ditch all other countrys and only be American. Like my about me says. Anyone have anything to say to me just write me, i leave all my thoughts on this board because I feel I am a part of this family and I love it. bring it on.
