Ever had one of those times when shooting where using your sights is worse than point shooting?

I came in 10th tonight our of 25 shooters. I could not hit crap with the sights so I dropped the pistol down to shoulder hight and actually did better. Sad, sad situation...

Think I might go ahead and let them operate on my neck and get this over with.

On a better note, I took 5th at the Steel Challenge on Saturday our of 45+ shooters.

Sucks when you can't lift and hold your weapon up for a good sight picture. bleh

no bueno

do you have disc problems in your neck? If so, I can relate except mine are L4-L5 and L5-S1. A buddy of mine had his neck fused. I know it was a pretty long recovery and he's still in pain (not as much as before). 5th out of 45 isn't bad...

Redjacket, they do AK's without a doubt, Saiga's too. But some of the stuff they do is wonkey.

I was watching American Guns and this guy has them mount two PK 380 's on the front of this car for this guy and charged him $10,000 for the setup. He could have done it himself for under $200.00 easy. Boggling what people will pay for some seriously stupid stuff..

I saw the same one. I was thinking the same shit. It has to be set up.

LOL

no doubt!

Same thing with the Canon setup. How in hell no one noticed that the ass of the Canon was going to hit on the frame of the mount is beyond me.

Though the Yellow Boy was kind of cool and it got me to thinking.

I actually have a degree in Mechanical Design, might look into trying my hand at designing a stock and also possibly a pistol.

then up at the top 1 is disintegrating from a genetic thing I picked up from my dad who got it form his, so on and so on.

They can go in from the front of my neck for 6,7 but 5 they are not sure. Up top they can't touch so they told me they might be able to build it up with gold flake?

nothing about that sounds good. Any cutting in that area would scare the shit out of me... but I guess if you don't have a choice, you don't have a choice.

after the ass wipe driving the 1969 454 LS7 Monty Carlo ran it into the ass end of a 69 Firebird with a front flat tire who was hubbing it to a Gas Station to have it changed.

I had a keg in my Van and needed to get some smokes so I ask this guy to give me a ride so I didn't have to drive off with the Keg and make everyone wait for me to get back.

We were out on a causeway leading to the bridge to Tampa, no street lights. So the owner of the car is drunk but he tells me his buddy can drive as he doesn't drink and wasn't drunk.

What he neglected to tell me was his buddy had dropped two hits of Blotter. We were doing around 165 mph when we hit the Firebird, lifted the Bird up 25 feet into the air and threw it 45 feet off the road so it landed with the ass end in the water. We went 175 feet past the impact and hit a Concrete Pole that held the Road Signs over the causeway.

I went up and looked the place over a few months after I recovered and there where four skid marks about three feet long and then you could see where the rims cut into the concrete for the whole length to the pole.

Two years ago I had them cut my back and they ended up having to do it four different times to get it right, so I have been holding off on my neck, but I don't think I can wait any longer.

I guess acid and cars don't mix. Someone should probably tell LBC. That couldn't have turned out good for anyone involved

LMAO

yeah, odd thing is the guy driving (Larry) the Monty didn't have a scratch. Screwed me big time and the guy in the Firebird was out cold, his neck and back were toast also. He woke up in the hospital and didn't even know what had happened.

I rode on the back of my brothers Honda 750 with a 836 kit in it while he was driving. We had gone down to Sarasota for a small cook out with some females he knew from College.

Short of the long, we drank some shroom tea, not allot of it but enough.

So on the way back to St Pete he keeps weaving the bike and I ask him whats up. He tells me the trees keep bending over in front of us and hes dodging them.

I begged him to pull over and we ended up sitting on the side of the road watching the sun come up before I'd get back on the bike.

So we get on the bike and he starts it up and I look over to the right of us and we are right in front of our mothers house.

Scary times...

My son(s) never got away with diddly when it came to partying and my daughter can't now.

I can sympathize.

I'm currently undergoing medical retirement. Got thrown out of a hummer and damaged C-6 and C-7. I have good days and bad days, but am sure it's only going to get worse.

He was a Sgt in a Track (One of the Magnesium/Aluminum Alloy APC's) during Tet and he was up in the turret hole working the 60 when a RPG hit the drivers door and it blew him up and out of the track. He would have been toast if it hadn't but, all these years later his back is so far gone he's living on injections and pain meds.

Once Magnesium get set on fire, it doesn't just go out, I don't know what Mental Giant came up with that one, but they should have been sat in one while someone shot Tracers at it so they could see the affects up close and personal.

However; I am pursuing avenues within the tactical community to acquire the accoutrements that are needed for my mission.
Thanks for keeping an eye out for me. I do appreciate it.

Sympathise isn't the word..im on 100% disability.. mines inoperable, four issues, and a number of consults, the success probability is low enough that were also pushed into the "pain management" dept..

No trauma on mine.. Years of running and back packing are assumed to be the cause or just heredity.. Which ever.. when it finally got to the point that i could no longer ride the scoot, or run in response to a back up call.. i knew my retirement would come a couple of years early.. actually 18 months.. and i was fortunate to have the departments help.. I hear the horror stories that others have relating to disability, and i have none of that.. I can honestly say my agency was there for me when it was needed.

frustrating.. least i have a story to go with the edit.. ISD started this thread about a bad shoot..

when we first retired i went to a local club out of Prescott's tuesday "plate" day.. took the L frame. all was easy till i had plates hidden that required a "lean out" posture.. yeah well i don't lean.. so i wound up using all the speedloaders i had.. this was on the last shoot and of course i had an audience on top of everything..

The Tuesday event is a very low key deal.. mostly retired guys.. the only thing good was i didn't make any comments about my prior shooting or yearly expert qualifying.. pretty sure i finished last..

went to the O.. today (hate that word) anyway.. im good to go for the next 3 months, and my PSA is what they call "tap water" level.. as in ..yep you get it.. anyway if you stopped eating sushi your upset stomach would be better..

as an aside on the way in we passed a new sushi joint in north phx.. called the squid ink.. no joke.. like the raw fish isn't enough.. were going to add squid juice to it..

Scars.. holy hanna (the hanna i knew was anyway) yep..got some.. but when you get old that lose skin thing sorta hides them... This for some reason reminds me of the funniest thing lucks ever said.. were talking about tatts some time ago.. Lucky say yeah when we get old we can sit around the "home" and play guess the tattoo...

for you guys and your back problems. I have been blessed by making it 42 years without F'ing up my back (knock on wood) what with all of my automotive related shit, lifting engine blocks and such.

I knew a kid in high school named Lincoln Parry, even his name sounds big and he was, built like a brick shit house, at 17 he was 6'4" and about 250 lbs. Well old Lincoln did something stupid (can't remember what if I ever knew to begin with) and shredded his back, from 18 on he was in sad shape.

I had a boss at a dealership years ago who was an ex rodeo rider, same thing, at 22 years old it took him an hour to get going in the mornings and cold weather made it worse.

Oh Yeah!

I got stabbed in the groin (amongst other places) 1 1/2 inches to the right and I'd be singing soprano. May not be the worst long term, but imagine explaining the scar to new girlfriends. Lol!

Beats me

All they did was give me a frowny face, new liver and rearrange my internals because of them being knocked out of place from a few car wrecks. Well that and the Laminectomy in my lower back to stop paralysis from the aforementioned car accident.

Hell, good thing it didn't hit the femoral artery! Or others would have been singing Swing Low.

Well...

I wasn't laying around. To be honest, it was my own fault. I let my guard down around a couple of detainees that were female and children. I figured that since they weren't the target and unarmed, they weren't much of a threat. Woman grabbed a piece of broken glass and 37 stitches later I learned a life lesson.
