An announcement has been made that the Florida Republican primary may NOT end up with Romney taking 50 delegates. It seems that the Republican National Committee's rules for primaries state that States that are winner-take-all are not permitted to run their primaries until April 1, 2012. This rule was prima facie violated by the Florida primary operators, and thus the RNC may issue sanctions including the ordering of proportional awards of delegates to the participants. Gingerich's campaign is pressing on this issue as we speak. By my arithmetic, that would mean Romney would get 23 and Gingerich would get 16.
