Well it is officially over after 32 years of wedded blis. Wife say's that she is unhappy and is moving to Florida and I wasn't invited. She will be living near her 2 dtrs from a Prev marriage and her gay/lesbian sister. samD |

I don't think we are going the legal Divorce route. She is going one way & I am going in the opposite direction. I don't need lawyers dividing up my property into their greedy hands. We have discussed it, made lists and are dividing equitably.

Decided to respond on this one.. Was thinking of responding on the Mosin, course this means "game on" for a battle rifle 500M target post.. Was NOT thinking of responding on "its over".. We can, and will all toast you on starting a new, and ABSOFUCKNLUTLY better life.. The "its over" is just that.. If you need to talk, vent, or some off screen prayers just send a pm.. Otherwise ITS OVER.. You, and only you can control who lives "up there", and think your mental health component is well enough to NOT let anyone you don't want "up there"..

This is going to be good stuff guys.. Were going to have to push Daisy (and others) into getting another rifle. (maybe not, his avatar and all) I think it's great that for what ever reason so many of us picked up battle rifles this winter.. We can do this individually from where ever we are, the question now is what range.. This obviously has to "start" where 5.56 "stops".. yeah right we could make it IK meters and reap would beat me..The rest aya lops.. will see..
How bout this idea.. Sam picked up the Moisn to be a part of this shoot, given circumstances, sounds like a good time for the first annual Sam and Samantha Shoot.. Probably take some time to get up and running, but i'm down for posting pics say 1March. Sam..your shoot, your call on when, and what distance.. I'd love it if we could all get together, but this was at least will have a lot shooting and posting targets..

yeah, my wife was dumb struck when we split up years back and I put the two dogs in my truck and a Sea Bag stuffed full of my cloths in it and told her have a good life.
She wanted to know what I wanted in the divorce and I told her I had everything that meant anything with me so keep the rest. We did get back together in time and to this day she can't get over the fact that I didn't want anything.

Get a galvanized steel tank, a bottle of whiskey and 5 gallons of muriatic acid. Put the rifle in the vat and cover with the acid. Start drinking. By the time the rifle's dissolved, you won't give a shit anymore! :)

Ok everyone, I HAD to add this so I can save some people lots of time and elbow grease.
To heck with the mineral spirits. They work, but slowly and not anywhere near as good as what I tried.
Get yourself a spray can or two of CITRUS based cleaner/degreaser. This stuff cuts through cosmoline like it's nothing, just melts it right off. I hardly had to do any wiping whatsoever. The stuff I used is made by Betco and is called Citrusolv spray organic solvent cleaner degreaser.
I just sprayed the parts down and the cosmoline literally fell off. It didn't hurt the metal/bluing and it didn't harm the wood or the finish on the wood at all.
My first mosin I used mineral spirits. My second one I used the citrus degreaser because I didn't have any mineral spirits. My first mosin took me 2-3 hours to clean. My second mosin took me 45 minutes to clean. You don't even have to soak the parts, just spray them down good and it falls right off.
Don't waste your time with mineral spirits, get it cleaner faster by using a citrus cleaner degreaser spray.

to Sam's post for a great tip that could save many of hours. Just think, Sam, with that post, assuming it saves 15 people 3 hours in which they can be productive, at an average of $25/hour, you just contributed $1,125 to the GDP. Send a sincere "you're welcome" to Obama. ;)

When I was in the Navy I did a lot of unpacking machine gun barrels, washed 'em off in Stoddard solvent. It worked okay but what Sam described is a better world! Next time I unpack machine gun barrels I'll remember that :<)

Lots of mixed emotions in that kind of situation.....I know from experience. But, I also know from experience, it can be a blessing in disguise. It took me 14 years to grow enough to want to try it again. Glad I did.
