think it should look sorta cool.. got the sling, and swivels today.. had to check size before buying the recoil pad.. says its a 70% reduction.. will see.. agree with daisy.. Guys as you get older you really do become a bit more "delicate"
Oh yeah to Finnish up.. (get forgetful to) .. the stock on my SMLE is beautiful blond ..uh.. something.. anyway the black bi pod, sling, recoil pad, scope, and magazine (got one on order i'll paint black) should look neatokeen.. Now if i can shoot it.. thats a different story..

Red or black? I think red would look good on a walnut, but if yours is blond (Maple?), probably black.

Hope this posts. did earlier, but im having some type of sat issues.. Last night i tried to respond to the radial / recip engine thing, and pard coming to AZ bout 5 times.. kept getting this gunslot page that basically said your a lop..
Since i connected earlier it should work.. (duh .. if it doesn't im typing this why?) .. there's some type of lesson for you of sound mind.. Not sure what..
Saint.. im going all black bud. the mag i have coming in is used, so just a spray paint..Anyway i can revert back to stock way quick.. in the meantime.. It's going to be a good looking piece, i read somewhere that SMLE's were notorious for having beautiful wood stocks, and mine does. so all blond and black., and i think i might just have a shooter as well.
This could be fun if all of us do a long range (CHEAP!!) project with the old battle rifles.. Since it seems a lot of us are doing this...I'm thinking maybe 500M but if i can talk you into barn size targets maybe half mile..

I want to try out a Nagant down at Manatee and see just how far out it will go on the 1000 yard range. Start down at 200 and move it over after each full load.

howdy ISD.. yep im thing this might be a winner..Found it odd that Sam was talking about getting a "big bore" Hamps, going to turn his Nagant into a range shooter.. These old battle wagons (FTW) are cheap, and know we've all read the SGN.. on the johnny Appleseed thing.. lets have our own competition... Someone come up with the distance.. It's a given were talking bench or prone here.. and will see who can make 30 cal holes that are close together.. Think Daisy might have a little more experience with this than a lot of us.. Daisy.. what the .... is a "palma" anyway..
Obviously this could be real fun with the AR shooters joining in.. Yes i know i know.. but betting Reap and Nutless are gona kick some butt here.. what ever.. see ya all when im sane..ok see ya all when better..

I know from experience with my 7.62X54mm stuff that they do have a fair amount of recoil which wears on 'ya after a long day at the range, none of my old 'battle axes' have pads and you can tell when driving home with your left hand because your right shoulder hurts so bad......lol

Pard thats got me laughing .. yep.. Gloria and i have some sorta nasty ass flu or maybe being poisoned by the neighbors (shessh hope its not the kids).. anyway i sound somewhere between Andy Devine, and Tallulah Bankhead... hmm .sora look like a cross there to.. OK im scaring myself..

confidant that I was pretty close to that Springfield XDS .45 auto compact that Reap posted at $540 spent....well I guess 'ya got to see to shoot (disclaimer) my distance vision is good.......Anyhooo, it sucks getting old! (preaching to the choir, I know).........missed opportunities....

I'm not in that size lenses yet, but I do have s set of Mono Vision Glasses for shooting I've been trying to get used to.
Left eye is normal, right up is for the sights and they balance out for clear shooting at all distances.
Something funny, had this guy looking down a AICS 700 - 308 that has a Bushnell Tactical Elite on top of it. Can't get a clear picture, this damn scope sucks don't it? Hey, Henry take off your Trifocals...

sheesh, I just bought a 12pk of sam adams sample beers, man they have some good stuff. Id love to get one of these nice rifles, not the .9fewofnewiofn but something nice. I saw a 7mm savage, it was 549 and the 30-06 version was 299.......299 caught my eye, and it came with a scope. what do yall think...anyone shoot a 7mm? guy said it kicked pretty dam good, but could also take someone sizeable out easy.

Buddy of mine has one, Ruger ultra lite just like mine. Once I shot it and felt the "nudge" from a Magnum round in a light weight sporter, I went and ordered mine in .243
No regrets at all. Too bad that particular configuration aint in production anymore.
