Had a great trip to Idaho couple years ago.. went thru central Utah over to Wyoming, did the whole Yellowstone thing, then thru Idaho and back thru Nevada to AZ.. Checked before we left and all the states have reciprocal CCW's.. so not a deal.. real easy to check on a couple of sites.. Sorry i don't have them in front of me.. but if you put "state gun laws" in your search engine you should have it before i finish typing this sentence..

Hope you enjoy the site.
A little understood proviso of the concealed carry is that, on a Federal Highway, you are within your rights to carry as you see fit. When you get into trouble is that you pull off onto a State, County or city streets and then you are at their mercy...

I don't have a CCW

But if we travel over night I have a 357 in the car.
I usually have it in a door panel pocket.
1st you have to get stopped.
2nd present a reason for a search
So I feel pretty comfortable with it.
3rd I am totally disabled unable to defend myself
and my wife. If a judge can't see that as a reason
to carry, well I guess I live in a Commie Country.

That is every reason for you to carry IMO

Were a pretty good group, odd as shit, (cept me of course) but thats what makes it fun..you can click on our picture and sorta get an idea of what were about.. pull up a chair and enjoy..

a certified police officer has been through all we have
to go through to get a CCW in his police training.
The background check, the range shooting and the classrooms.
They also are only licensed in the state they are an officer in.

Maybe I'm paranoid

But there's no way I'm saying what I do, on here or anywhere else.

I absolutely obey all laws everywhere, all the time.

It was my understanding that the states that ratified the CCWP would allow you to carry from state to with-in state... last year when i went hunting in NC i carried all the way thru from FL with no issues... My brother inlaw and i compared notes with our CCWP and figured it to be so... So if anybody has info to the contrary please post a link for reference...

I was pulled over by a local pd. and told them i was carrying my 9 Kel tech this office pulled his side arm and was shaking like a leave on a tree in a storm telling me to put up my hands this office was so bad he even had his finger on trigger not the frame after 30 or so seconds i seen he had the safety on and then i told him and show him i had every right to carry my side arm everywhere he calls a supervisor in while still under gun point and step back to his car and waited for help supervisor shows up and ask me to step out so i stepped out and i was in uniform and officer ask me to get on the ground and then i was cuffed and put in back of car with my sidearm still at my side so i remove cuffs with my keys and step out the open door and walk up to local and ask them what they had and they told me lol i could believe what happened then i told them what i did and they said prep is in car then i said number one I'm the so called prep and 2 why was the pull over in first place then they realized i was the guy and stop the search for my firearm and asked me were it was. that went sift super pulled up screamed at offices and said i could go and sorry for pull over. all i got to say that great training wtf . i understand being scared and all but that's not right no office in any from of police should ever shake like that . train more a lot more

pull me over (three tickets in six months.....goddamn STI)...and I understand their situation but I never have been held at gun point, I always present my CCP along with my licence and initiate the conversation with the fact that I am armed. I have always been puzzled as to why they get their fur up with CCP holders, it's the dude without the CCP with warrants and a gun that they need to be weary of, not me who is upfront and having gone through fourteen background checks.

I'm the opposite.

I've been pulled over ( to many times) and have never had an issue when armed. I notify the officer as soon as the conversation starts, but they always seem to relax. I just assumed they figure that if I'm telling them I'm armed, I probably don't have hostile intent. On a side note, never got a ticket while armed, just warnings. :)

Still have a T shirt from the Nam Jam that our chapter of VNVMC (in conjunction with a local VNVA, and VFW post) did back in mid eighties to commemorate Tucson's version of the "wall"..

We had "red and white" over from Cali, and the Dirty Dozen before they were patched over as escorts..VNVMC is a three piece patch, but we were all a bit "wide eyed" by the rest of the crew that showed up.. had well over 300 bikes. shut down traffic.. Pretty cool ridding in the middle of the pack.. going thru red lights with angels parked as road guards to stop traffic.

This all took place south of Tucson.. On the way to the concert i made the mistake of not ridding in a group. we were stopped twice.. Did the whole pat down, and intimidation thing trying to provoke.. We all had the word not to carry(ah..anything), but i still got a bust for not using turn signals..(told them hand signals from the gal were good enough).. that got me a scoot search..

Bout 5 years later i decided i wanted "bennies" and asked about the department of corrections. at that time any record (no drug or DUI, but what was called mutual combat) this was not a problem at the time as they figured if you had some "street" you would (true enough) do well as a C.O.

All that's in the past.. We became peace officer certified in the late 90's and that meant no drug use, or assault charges. Mixed feelings on this..Obviously important for street LE.. but for C.O.s its irrelevant, and we turned away what would have been great officers due to their records..
